The program I used to make the .cur files is called RealWorld Cursor Editor. It can also be used to make .ani files for animated cursors.
(I'm not sure what other programs will let you make .cur files, this is just the one that I used)

I used a program called RealWorld Cursor Editor.

It's sort of like an art program, you can start with a new canvas and make a cursor from scratch, or you can open a .png file and save over it as a .cur file. 

It also allows you to make animated cursors and save them as .ani (Here's an animated cursor that I've made with it for example sta.sh/2t1ewekguq0 )

The cur. files have been individually uploaded to my sta.sh here sta.sh/22b8d6b3r0f5

After you've downloaded the cursor of your choice, go to your downloads and move the file to Local Disk (C:), then move it to the folder called WINDOWS, and then to a folder called Cursors.

To use the cursor, go to your Control Panel and click on Mouse, go to the Pointers tab and click on the Browse button. After you've found the cursor, select it and hit ok.



The details on how to find and use the cursor might be different depending on what operating system is being used. 
The above instructions are for changing your cursor on windows xp, so you may have to do some googling if this method doesn't work for you.

save them individually as either .cur .ani or .ico (you can find the cursors all separated in my scraps).
Open the Control panel, once you're in the Control panel double-click the mouse icon, and in the mouse properties click the pointers tab.
near the bottom you'll see the Browse button, click it. at the top there will be a drop down, click it and find the location of the cursor you saved.  once you've found your cursor, click open. after that all you have to click is ok to finish. 

if it doesn't seem to work, google should have some tutorials to help you.

Delete the file and go and save it again. But, instead of clicking the download button, right click the image that is already being displayed and click save. 
it should give you PNG instead of ICO.

If you want to change the PNG to jpg, just open it up in MSpaint (PhotoShop or sai will work too) and save it as jpg.
