No, the original idea was to create a Superman type of character with the name Almighty. Got to talking about making him visually different from Superman and came up with this design.

Thanks! It's more of a Samoan sun face, and it's hard to see from the side angle. Maybe I'll do something later with a better angle.

Ha! We talked about that, and thought that maybe someone named him that and he hasn't been able to shake the name. Some of the original design talk was to make him a smug character who did call himself Almighty.

Another brilliant design, how to do Superman without doing Superman. Too many characters aping this archetype look far to similar to the foundational character. Guy in tights with a cape and short hair and some sort of chest emblem.
While on the surface this seems to follow that mold you guys did some brilliantly subtle stuff to set him apart. First the name referencing the Bible just defines the whole thing. From the ancient sun image with its radiating rays, to the Samson like hair style, to the colors denoting glory and purity. Its all quite brilliant. I also like that the face and nose are both broad and square, giving the impression that in contrast could be considered brutish or Neanderthal like because its the face of a fighter, its the face of strength. Not some perfect pretty boy with all the best powers ever.

Thank you for the great critique! I wanted Almighty to be as different from Superman as we could possibly make him without just changing his skin color. I think the end result really worked out well.

I love it and all the ideas going into it. Hey Iβd like your opinion on my Superman, Legendary. Ive got to redraw him cause I referenced and action figure and the pose is utter shit but I like the design. He is both the first man and the first superhuman of my world (basically the father of our race). I was going for a royal/regal look.

I really like this design, and the overall look! Especially the golden skin. Really conveys the regal godlike look you're going for. If I was going to make any change it would be to the gloves and the boots as they are the same color as his skin. Maybe a metallic blue to match the blue highlights? Honestly, I can't find any reason to change him. He looks great.
