Description
A few years ago I was the regular cover artist on LEGION with Tony Harris. We had an odd way of working. We did each phase of the cover together. We both did concept sketches, We both pencilled, inked and colored each piece. We would just keep passing it back and fourth until we didn't hate it. Tony was always drawing more lines and I was always trying to find ways to draw fewer lines. It was a tough process and very time consuming. It was also a lot of fun. We fought tooth and nail. His wife would have to come in and yell at us like a couple of kids arguing over a toy. Still, we did some images together that I'm still proud of. We usually had to explain the process to our editors over and over again. Some thought I was just the inker, or the colorist. I took it as a challenge and a compliment that Tony thought enough of me and my ideas to be willing to work with me in this way. He helped me start my career. This was the last cover done in early 2004. My memory is a bit fuzzy, but Tony was working on something else at the time and was unable to work on this one with me. It was due the next day so I had to knock this out overnight. I wasn't happy with the final product but it had to be finished. Ultimately, the editor decided not to use it and we did no more LEGION after this.
It remains unfinished.

I'm guessing that would have been for issue #32. If so, I kinda wish they'd gone with this! The one they used gave away the end.

All I can say is Lar Gand is the man! In this cover you touched on some much of that it isn't even funny. The colors are vibrant and nice, but if you have the pencils anywhere those would be awesome to see. Eitherway this is awesome, and I was reading Legion during your run. Excellent...

Unfinished, but still cool. ^_^ I like the blue outlines around the girl on the left.
