Description

Nuship Aurora, 304 build number 09, to be launched almost 13 years after the hull was initially laid down. Originally as it was forecast in both SGC and IOA budgets, to be the last of type, named Titan, there were so many factors at the time that forced the shipyards to cease the build in 2012. She languished there and perhaps under her partially built metal skin she watched jealously, or perhaps sadly, as newer, younger designs were launched.

In 2019 it was proposed that a ship be built with two primary missions, research and discovery, and at the insistence of the US Air Force, to search for clues or hopefully the fate of the Destiny and its crew.

The Aurora was renamed in honour of the Ancient vessel of the same name, that the Atlantis mission had at their disposal for a very brief, yet gallant moment. Primarily she is a 304 in most things with her build, except she will be fitted with ‘through’ hangar decks as per the 304E and DD-100 class ships; a new propulsion system that provides more ‘in hull’ space and additional weaponry. Her full stats will be revealed after the official launch, a date yet to be announced.

She will be the lead ship in a new class of light missile cruisers designated CG-360.
