The Changelings where presented with a very difficult problem. They could not survive off the emotions in the Nightmare Lands. Sombra's crystal magic turned them into mindless zombies. Chaos tainted the emotions of the demons under Discord and Twilight's command, rendering them immune. Queen Chrysalis was left with only one option, the survivors of the nightmare. She led them into battle to secure the only food source left to them. Only Empress Scootaloo met them on the battlefield, challenging Chrysalis. They fought, the Empress prevailing over the Queen. The Empress gave them two choices, to leave, or to stay with them. Queen Chrysalis had no choice but to join the fledgling Equestrian Empire, living under the strict rules that were placed onto to them. At first the Changelings were only allowed to passively feed on the emotions around them, barely enough for them to live on. Through the magic of Belle and Bloom's machines, a new kind of food was made for them. The artificial emotions allowed the changelings to live again, and in a new way. They no longer saw the ponies around them as prey to feed off of, but as friends that they were willing to protect.
Many changelings choose to fight for the Imperium, serving under all branches of the imperial military. Queen Chrysalis' own daughter, Princess Phyrissus (who is shown above and on page 8 with Belle) serves as an Inquisitor with the Sweetie Sisters of Battle.

Sorry about the long post, didn't know if you thought that Phyrissus up there was her mother or was just genuine interested about the changelings... Or both...

I might just do a little short comic though. Theres enough there for it.

I had no idea chrysalis had a daughter. I like the concept that some of the bad guys have turned to good and good guys bad. Thank you for the explanation. Oh, I also like how the main six look, and spike looks way cool too.

Yah, I made a daughter for her, the older generation of changelings are not so willing to change (HAH!) as the younger, so I needed a character to be Chyrsalis' counter point.

I need to do an update to the rest of the chaos lords, Twilight's chapter is too far away to wait till than.

(you now it is more heretical to believe in the demon then the Xeno (i think the GK purge used to purge anyone who saw them))

little Gue' we ask you not change your faith all that you do is help us all work for a greater purpose of friendship and harmony while you suppress and destroy potential allies we combine and are made strong while you strive for a status quo (which last i checked is a quickly reversing state of affairs) we grow in greater knowledge (mancanicus? why deniy the citizenry to good care tech) and strength (we are relative to our size the fastest growing faction).

join you know you want to...

(in fairness like the farseer said in DoW DC "your race is still young it is only time before idealism is filled with cynicism and the same brutish tactics of the other races." the best anti tau argument i ever heard.)

The Empress shields me from your heretical views (The Inquisition cares not for xeno and daemon alike). The Imperium is the only force of good left and your lies betray you as a foe. The Nightmare claims the weak, the strong survive. Deceit and corrupt will not be allowed, you will be purged in the flames of the Empress with extreme tolerance.

I pity your ignorance Gue' we have often traded with your kind be it Rouge Trader or open minded plant even assisted the odd Inquisitor (and they did not seem to mind)

The older races are a monument to there own foolishness and we will learn from them, mistakes be it yours and even our own we will learn, we will advance and by the harmony of the Shas, Fio, Por, Kor and even our auxiliary including the loyal Gue'vesa have benefited under the guidance of the Celestial-caste.

It saddens me you persist in a self defeating Strategy of xenophobia lead by the tyranny of the Gue' tyrant trowing away brave soldiers to a fools errand and a fight WE have never asked for.

If the Por'o has failed to clear your disillusions then it is up to the Shas and Kor to bring hope and light to your starving and ignorant citizens our ever advanced ships will come the stations will fall silent, then the mantas will clear a path for the Superior firepower of the shas cast, and when the dust settles we will send the Fio and Por to show the benefits of the greater good they will greet us with open hoofs as we extend our own and then we will find even you little Gue'o and when you see the smiles maybe even you will join us as many have before...

-Transmission end-

(really when i started i fought about playing guard but eventually (and in this order) the Game play, optimistic lore and even look won me over over neat quirks made me stay despite a out dated codex (7 years+ behind!) any way have a great day now great comic.)

GatesMcCloud In reply to LTblackcoat [2013-03-05 16:59:00 +0000 UTC]

( I see I need to switch back, was doing this from the CMC perspective, hence Empress and not Emperor.)

You call us ignorant, yet your kind was known to us for millenia.

You call us foolish, yet you hold but a small cluster of stars while we hold a galaxy.

You call us xenophobic, yet we know the truth. We expunge the xeno because it is the only way. Your 'Greater Good' is simply a manifesto to hide behind as you slaughter countless beings and enslave more under the guise of a 'Greater Good'. Why is your Tau command comprised of just Tau? Why do you have different castes? Are the Kroot you so often employ allies or simply shields to guard your soft underbelly? What of your other so called 'allies'?
You already walk the same path we do. You already know that you can not trust anyone, let alone any being. You don't even trust yourselves. You practice everything that we have already done for ten thousand years. The galaxy is your enemy, allies are fleeting and few, and a knife is always against your back.
Stare deep and look at the future. We are this galaxy's champions, saviors, masters. We have faced the Necron and their star gods, the hive fleets of Tyranids, the Orc hordes, and a foe you have never truly faced, the immaterium of Chaos. We have been forged in the heat of time and of battle, constantly tested against time and time again. Stare deeply into the Imperium of Mankind. The Emperor stares back at you. His gaze is withering because it is Truth. He knows what you were, what you are, and what you will become.

You are us, without our knowledge, without our experience.

Blind arrogant zealots who seek only to conquer and kill. We have been called that by the other 'older races'. Does that not sound much like your kind, blind arrogant zealots, who only seek to conquer and kill? For the 'Greater Good' is it not? We also have a phrase we say, it is 'For the Emperor'. Perhaps in time your kind will learn the same lessons that we did. If you are so lucky, perhaps we would share our teachings, through the divine scripture of a holy bolter.

The Emperor Protects.

(well being unfamiliar with your comic lore i assumed details on "cannon lore" then ponified it (gev' tyrant is a unisex term) and recall the statedment "...will greet us with open hoofs as we extend our own" humans do not have hoofs.)

This foolishness disproves itself why should I lesion to the ramblings of terrorists seeing villain where there are only friends, we fight you not because of "posonal" glory or other fickle concerns but because you are dangerous to peace and MUST be pacified.

there are none of our number among you yet plenty of your number among us...maybe words from your own kind will change your mind or that of your subordinates.

fellows...

(out of charictor.)

quite a few good points actually but then the lore was always deliberately vague for all party's so you can play with them easier.

on the unaddressed issue (you may already know these points) of tau politics simply put the tau (and allies) are put into "groups" each leading itself but all are guided and ultamitly answer to the ethereal caste in fact planets run themselves under the Marjory race (be it tau, human, kroot, vespid eta)

the Kroot are NOT full members so despite being a heavy alliy they are give less prevlages the Kroot however LOVE front line combat (the improving of ones DND in all that) and in benefit of there own continued harmony (tau in retrospect actually being few in number) they avoid life intensive strategy's they do not believe in "expendable troops" there for Kroot are deployed there they feel most at home and where tau gun support is assured.

the fight agenst hive fleet Gorgon was badass (and ultamitly decisively successful) (a good read ironic that it appears only in the trynid codex(bring on the new CODEX!)).

Sir i apologize that i saw late in my reply it was a fascinating comic i wish you continued success in it.

i think i have covered all points a nice exchange it has been.

(Oh understood, just thought as soon as you saw 'Empress' you'd get the context, but it is too late, I am in full 40k mode!)

The arrogance of your species is matched only by your ignorance. Why yes, there are some of us that fight for glory or personal gain, but ultimately we all fight for the Emperor. Is that not what you do? Or are you still blinded by ignorance?

Oh, and you are wrong about none of your kind amongst us. There are tau here. They fill our holds before we terminate them or hand them over to the Ordo Xenos. We don't fill them with false hope, nor do we use them as living shields.

Fortunately, my sector is far removed from any of your kind. Though I have long tried to track down your Commander Farsight. I believe he is the only one amongst your kind who isn't blinded by sheer arrogance.

Enough of this, I have more pressing matters. Real threats press me, not simple border disputes.

(I'm quite aware of tau thinking, after Dawn of War came out I hunted down anything 40k related, its a gateaway drug. Quite pissed with the GIANT retcon of the Necron, but I suppose it had to be done. I referenced the kroot as they are the prime example of the Tau's use of 'allies'. They are good allies but the Kroot are constantly at the front, while their tau allies shoot from behind. Oh Farsight, if only they would listen.)

(very well then so shall I.)

Shas'o Ironwill (This my commander not the Minatour(the name predates my joining of the herd)) looked the data over and then again still disbeliving what he just read he trows the data reader on his desk.

"Enough of this madness!" the reader topples a wolf taliman (a reference to my finest victory where the commander personly slew a wolf gaurd (terminatour squad) and then send the wolf lord and gaurd walking for cover (again terminatour))

he is far removed from the realitly here but I live it daily watching as the castles and vasals work in harmony across the empire and even on this very ship.

as he even been a true part of frount line combat as I have leading at the very frount I saw only the brave where I stood along side the auxilry and shas teams on the other hand i have witnessed the foolish and suicidal "human wave" doctrins of there kind.

he says he has enoth of my kind, easy for him to say one day far removed from my life time the galixy will be at peace and at its center the greater good and my Ironwill will help ensure just a tiny bit of that future.

threat maybe he is right it is in fact his warmongering kind that is the real threat...to peace.

he leaves with a slight limp moving at a steady pace.

I have have a war to win.

---

thought so.

FARSIGHT!? that mad werido who has utterly misunderstood the teachings of puretide?

hes warmongering is dangerous (tho he is right about the Orks.) PS. Go shadowsun.

meh I never got the orginal codex of necron but from what I know it seems a good move they went from raiders/defenders to invasion capable (there lore seems only a improvement, tho the loss of pairahs seems odd (but then more fitting with the proud necrons).)

there personality seems only more defined too (insane, anceint and incredably high tech with a deep hatered of anything none necron)

as it is going i am enjoying the many new codexs (this includs the first hard back (dark angles)) and as i have said will enjoy the new tau content.

however i think our lore will be nerfed agian (made more shady darn you matt ward i do not care if we are "too good to be true") and the inclusion of allies was interesting (but marines as Battle broothers Really!?)

any way enjoy now.

(Excellant, Tzeentch be praised!)

"The sheer arrogance," the commissar general muttered as he rose from his chair. "Zealotry has shielded them from the truth."
"And yet your kind chastises them for the sins you yourselves have committed?" Uth'Lin'Erye said as she entered. The slim feminine form of the farseerer nearly blending in with the shadows as she strolled across the communication sub room of the Heart of the Emperor. "Do I not detect the subtle hints of irony, Anastasius?"
"No it is there, Erye," General Anastasius said as he made his way to meet the farseerer. "Though mankind has been harden by time and battle." He paused briefly as he exchanged an affectionate peck with her before moving on to a messaging terminal.
Uth'Lin'Erye glanced at the message the commissar general had been reading. She gave a smirk, "Hardened by time? Both of your kinds know nothing of what time is." She walked back to the commissar general as he was preparing a message. "You two are like feuding siblings, with the younger chasing after the older."
General Anastasius looked up. "And what would the elder be in all this? The doddering old grandmother?" as he stared at the farseerer.
Uth'Lin'Erye let out a chuckle. "We aren't that old. There have been far older races than us. We," she said as she paused briefly. "Are more like the concerned adult," she said with a smile.
"Either way I am just happy we do not have to deal with them," the commissar general said as he reviewed his latest communication. "We have more pressing concerns."
"Terminus Rogue, and the necron," Uth'Lin'Erye said quietly as if not to wake some sleeping beast.
The general only gave a look as he pressed a series of buttons on the messaging terminal. "Bridge, estimated time of arrival to Andonis Prime?" he asked over the intership comm.
"Estimated time of arrival: 2 days, 6 hours, 34 minutes," the electric voice spoke before being interrupt by the commissar general.
"Thank you ODIN, I was expecting Admiral Howard though," General Anastasius said clearly annoyed at the sentient machine.
"My estimations are far more accurate than the primitive machines that you prefer to rely on", ODIN said. "If you would allow me more control of the."
"Thank you, ODIN. That is all", General Anastasius interrupted. He turned to Uth'Lin'Erye. "I don't know if I can form enough alliances to stop them."
The farseer placed her hand on the commissar general's cheek, staring into his eyes. "You've come this far. And it isn't just your worlds in danger. When the time comes the Beil-Tan will stand with you."
"I can only pray that they will see what you have", General Anastasius said as the two embraced each other.

Farsight is the only one to understand the flaws of the tau, and knows of secrets that we are not privy too. I only hope the rumors are not true about his supposive masters, knowing full well of the weapon he wields.

Nah, I'm not a huge fan of the new necron because it mirrors the Tomb Kings of Warhammer Fantasy. I prefer 4th edition Necrons as they're mostly mindless save for a very select few, plus the C'Tan play a much bigger role. I do love Trazyn the Infinite, that guy is tons of fun.

I'm hoping for the new Tau that more tau commanders begin to see what they're people are really doing. The snowball started with Farsight, I wanna see the avalanche begin. I wasn't kidding when I said the Tau haven't been truly tested like the Imperium with great heresy. The only thing different is that Chaos doesn't care about the Tau.
And besides, theres only one faction in all of Warhammer that is truly good. With out it there would be no hope at all. Chaos is the only answer and Tzeentch doesn't only represent change.

LTblackcoat In reply to GatesMcCloud [2013-03-20 14:46:59 +0000 UTC]

(well that is "uncommon")

Farsight answers only to himself now (rumors of chaos/necron control seem ridiculous...but that blade seem sentient) in forge world you can actually buy yet another follower of farsight will there be more experimentation on the codex and farsight doctrine, yes.

(ironically my play style is simuler to farsights (the build has no aux) but it is still changing)

also i recon we will get better intregasion of the kor caste air force in the codex now that it is no longer Apocalypse only and likely more auxiliary. (possibly a speacly rule on "over watch" too to help with melee fights?)

got to be honest i have a terrible feeling that realistically in about 50 years we will be over whelmed by Tyrinid DX only grave optamissium that we can rally guv's and eldar (my allies are themed eldar casaers (elder rangers basically)) and somehow persuade the marines to lay off a bit that we may just gain the galaxy in 10000 years maybe less.

bah athough i pay close attention to the lore (for the little details on my models for a start) it does depress me that they can not get along as some one said about 40000 "...where the only emotion is barely contend rage" quite simply i can not really take it too seriously (the tau are nice and underpowered underdogs)

frankly i just get on the table and think "Time ta git cunnin' with mi bluey shooty bois! for da great'a gooooooooooooood"

tsk as my opponent makes a unnecessary detailed (and nasty) death for my crisis monta (solo team) but then smirk as i wiped up his entire army's elites in one volley.

(the arts great fun too along with the making of my own back storys and what not and i do enjoy the unofficial RP game RT too.)

anyway cheers to the new codexs and season 4.

I am more than uncommon! Dare I say it, super human! Think thats almost a Phantom Limb quote. Damnit, when is the new season for that starting!?

Well his blade is C'tan in origin but with the recton to the necron he may be keeping until Trazyn comes and takes it. Plus Farsight is incredible old for those ungulates so either he's more tau than machine or serves something that can extend his life.

I'm sure GW won't write them out like that. I see two things happening. Civil War, or a necron throneworld reactivating in the path of the swarm. Though 'nids stay clear of necron worlds. Either way it'll be a deus ex machina that will save them ultimately.

I would love to see a capture crisis suit for orks. Dat wud be rite an proper.
