This is amazing. I'm not artist; not at all (I'm an engineer), but I enjoy using the other side of my brain too, lol. I'm a much better musician than visual artist - I can't draw a stick figure to save my life. I enjoy art and music, books, etc...this is very impressive. People who can create something like this seem to have almost magical powers that other people don't have. Your other work in the gallery is great too; and full of variety yet maintains a distinctive style and look.
I had to look up Copic Markers to see what they were! Apparently they are very high quality artist's and illustrator's markers that have been around a long time. I remember using clutch pencils and special refillable pens for inking architecture plans and sections, etc...very difficult for me to keep them in good working order, annoying to clean them after use, and maintain them; but I will admit the quality of the lines they produced, the smoothness of the ink...all the qualities of performance were the best of the best. Anyway, I eventually changed majors to Structural Engineering since I had no talent for design and was a terrible, terrible drawer. Even with AUTOCAD and similar, it helps if you have some artistic talent! So I'm always amazed by people who do; especially since I don't and I know how difficult it is. This picture is really intriguing; especially the lighting. Light and shadow seem to really make or break a drawing many times; make it look more substantial and a part of its context, adds depth and realism. Her face specifically has a very tactile quality - the way the light diffuses on her skin and the shadows and tones make me feel like I can almost reach out and touch her cheek or something and expect it to feel warm and skin-like, lol.
Thanks for posting your work here.

What kind of Bristol vellum do u use out of curiosity?? Every time I've used my copics on vellum, it practically drains my markers, especially strathmore 500 series bristol vellum. I won't even use it anymore unless I have refills at the ready for whatever markers I'm gonna use..

This is excellent. I'd love to see an entire comic book with this art.

Now this is a Selina that I can respect!
Thanks for drawing her at work but without her Catsuit unzipped down to her "kittens"!

I wouldn't say No to a version depicting her Julie Newmar-style, though...!

Don't worry Catwoman. I have trouble with Ikea products too. Very nicely done.

Awesome job! The pose reminds me of Bugs Bunny when he pops up for directions during the bullfight.

The lighting is excellent on this one, Cat. Your attention to the minute details of how the light source plays on the costume, goggles, and (especially and obviously, in the hands of a super talent like you) the lighting and tone on the face.
Ever humbled by you,
Gabe

only one thing, and that is that the paper that is closest to her is wrong. the outer line of it doesnt match from end to end. if that made sense.
