The funny thing is, when I did the first pencil sketch of that drawing, I made a very different expression for Tintin in the second panel. He was originally going to do an evil smirk.
But then, I figured out it would be more appealing if I made him do a friendlier and fun grimace.

Once Tintin's face is shown in front in the comics! In the very first album (Tintin in the land of the Soviets), on page 30. Nice drawings by the way!

Yes, but the art style in the very first album is so different from the "official" "mainstream" art I don't think it hardly counts. You could also see the original Tintin animated cartoon from the 60s where his nose is simply drawn as a circle when shown in front.
