I feel really dumb asking this, but I just downloaded from google play and it doesn't show up in my launcher (I use go launcher). I know I have to be missing something, but what is it?!

Hey,
First of all, No you are not at all dumb 
If you have downloaded the older version the steps to apply are given in the video which is at the playstore page
If it is the new version it should show up in your go launcher, try updating it
Go launcher is a big pain for icon developers, try to close it and refresh it once

I would like to mention some possible additions though, please correct me if they are already present:
1. Samsung S Stuff (s note, s planner blah blah)
2. Flickr
3. Music icon that is not Beatsaudio.
4. Sketchbook
5. Autocad 360 (formerly autocad WS)
6. More google stuff (local, authenticator, google settings)
7. Bard's Tale
8. Scan (any QR Scanner)
9. Snapseed
10. Yandex mail and yandex maps if possible.
