Description
Already 15 years since Burns and Smithers started a love relationship together. The old man is getting older and older every year, but his devoted assistant didn't stop to loving him, not matter what. Of course the elder boss needed more medical assistance to survive each week... but the weeks become days... to the point that he need some medical attention 2 times per day. Smithers (with Larry and Ryan's help) in the end replaced him as owner of the Power Plant, Burns was already too weak for keep doing that.

One day, Burns was waiting for a new medical assistance. Looking for stuff on his bedroom, he suddely find something. Two photos: one of him as child with his real father Clifford and John at his side when he still lived as "Happy". The other one is the last photo that he took with Smithers Sr. at his side, days before his death.
He feel a nostalgic pain of his chest, realizing how much he missed them. His will of live suddenly vanish. This memories are too much for him... he really missed them, and he want to see them again. Realize that he lived already too much, it could be selfish to keep living...

"Sir?", a voice surprises him and he hide the photos; but already made his choice.

"Yes, I'm here...", he said softly.

"Monty, the doctor is here. I said him to enter"

"Waylon, send back him to his home. I don't need him anymore"

"What?", Smithers didn't expect that. "But Monty, you need those medicines to keep alive! If you don't take it, you'll..."

"Listen my old friend. I think that I'm already too old to keep alive. I see and feel many things in my life... as long with losing many precious things"

"But... you're not ready for die...", Smithers talk toward him and take his shoulders.

"Trust me Waylon, I'm ready to go. I can't bear the thoughts or losing you, my son, my family if I keep living. Besides, we know that nobody in this city will miss him but you and the others I cared"

"Sir... but...", Smithers used to be afraid of the idea of Burns dying... but that's why he didn't started a relationship with him. But it's been 15 years since they started and Burns is alrady too old to keep fighting. The idea of him dying now makes him sad but, it's somehow that he know that Burns can't live forever. Everyone must die one day.

"I know that it's somehow sad, but I'm very glad to live that much, to had a kind family, your grandfather, your father, even you. Your son, my son; everyone don't need me anymore. This Burns-Smithers legacy must continue without me", Burns' voice is so sweet, kind besides his weakness. "Smithers, I'm happy to have this relationship with you in this 15 years. I'll go happy knowing that."

"Alright sir, I understand", Smithers hug him, but not to tight for not hurting him. "So, you need something?"

"A kind of last dinner will be a nice idea. With all our families together. I want to said farewell to everyone"

"As you wish. I love you, Monty"

"I love you too, Waylon. Thank you"

Smithers leave Burns alone. Then the old man took the photos again, watch it with a smile. A kind of happy smile.

"Wait. I'll reunite with you this very night", he said softly.
