I'm currently re-working one of my favourite pictures for print status, the original version is below:[link]
I'll be going for a slightly lighter tone with this. I've placed this work in progress here to listen to any comments, ideas and criticism, I'd like to hear from you all in what direction I should continue . . . .
The final will sport a hint of blue colour and will be available in sizes up to A3 . . . .
Pencil, Ink, Watercolour, Markers painted over in PS, Painter . . . .

Must apologize for the gentle probing, I stumbled upon this [link] , and felt I had to probe about you both to find out if some 1 had ripped the other off or if it was a common image used. I'm pretty paranoid about folks ripping others work after it happened to me, so forgive the investigation, and again nice work =]

I always see artists sometimes even here make the effort to say they never use references and have made super realistic poses from their head, 99% of them are liers if they say this, reference is vital and key to working realistically, if even used loosely....

I've always avoided reference myself, I agree it can lend a lot to a piece and is probably a great learning tool, but I guess I'm just too lazy to find the pose I want =d. I do use it for animals etc though, if I can't draw them to my satisfaction after a few tries.

I think you're right gava, I've spent a long time fiddling around working things out in my head. Time to learn from reality for awhile. Expect some referenced works over the xmas =]

AH nice find that is also based on the original photo I studied, got the reference from a stock site.... The picture link is juts a manipulated photo, it looks that way anyhow......

Yeah, I kind of thought so, but I'm none too sure if it is or not.. I see a lot of images that look like photo manips, but its a risky game calling people on it when its nigh impossible to prove.
