I love TMNT even more than Biker Mice, but the entire concept is actually a spoof on the comic book industry of the mid-80's. At the time, the dominant books were Frank Miller's Daredevil (which featured the red ninjas known as The Hand), the X-men (mutants), and Teen Titans. The fact that they're turtles is a play on Dave Sim's indie book Cerebus, about an anthropomorphic Aardvark. As you can see, it's a pretty brilliant concept...and it's completely different than Biker Mice in all but the most superficial ways. It's like saying that He-man is a rip-off of Lord of the Rings. They're not even close.

Hah! oh God I knew the middle one was familiar. Though I can barely remember a damn thing. Did a little looking and found other old shows I barely remember: Mighty Ducks, Cowboys of Moo Mesa (which had their own arcade game in a local ice skate rink I recall), and Street Sharks <3

hehe yeah. I remember Mighty Ducks rather fondly. As me and my brother for about 10 years acted out our own stories for fun. It all started with two kids. One on the bunk bed and one falling from it as the other shouted Canard's last words to Wildwing. (I only saw a total of 4 episodes though 'doh)
