Description This is a pen and ink drawing for 's "traditional media male portraits" contest. I actually didn't plan on entering, but threw down the guantlet, challenging me to draw a Forrest Griffin to go up against his ultra-badass portrait of Quentin "Rampage" Jackson (check it out!! [link] ). Being a huge Griffin fan, I had no choice but to comply I'm pretty proud of it, but I think in the battle of the drawings, Rampage puts the beatdown on poor Forrest.

I am, too. Forrest puts his entire heart and soul into the fight every time, and he never takes the easy fights (*cough* Diego Sanchez *cough*). His win/loss record suffers because of it, but he never takes the boring "sure thing" fights. You have to respect a guy like that.

I love Rampage, but Forrest has proven that he deserves to be in the UFC, and I think it's about time he got the respect (and the belt) he deserves. That said, I don't think he can beat Rampage. I mean, the guy beat up Chuck Liddell, for Christ's sake. Of course, anything can happen in MMA I'm just looking foward to a good fight.

I dont think anyone has had easy fights in the UFC for the past 2 years. The league has a the best talents that the sport can offer right now. But i cant take anything away from FG though. His dedication to training is far more superior than Rampage's basing from what ive seen.

But who knows. Like you said, anything can happen. One sucker punch and the fights over and im sure these two will throw down... hard!

Yeah, but some the UFC's top talents aren't fighting up to their potential or have just gotten lazy. Diego Sanchez, Andre Arlofsky, Tito Ortiz...all of these guys aren't performing, even when set up against considerably weaker fighters. Also, a lot of the UFC stars who don't hold belts often take lame matches against weaker guys, just so it looks like the UFC doesn't play favorites with the contender rankings.

Griffin is almost always the underdog in his fights, and I've read that he doesn't take fights unless he thinks he might lose. That's why his fights are always exciting, and I'm thrilled that he's finally getting a title shot.

Well, Tito like Chuck and probably Arlofsky are not as young as they once were. I think they have reached and passed their potentials. They simply are not as good as they were before and considering the talent that newcomers have, they got their hands full.

I dont think UFC stars are matched up against weaker guys coz for the past 5 events, i havent seen a fight where one fighter was obviously better than the other. Most of em are evenly matched and im happy to see that a lot of wins were done by KO or tapout or submission.

As for Griffin, yeah im glad he's on his way on to the top! On a side note, id like to see someone who could match up well with Anderson Silva.
