This one started as a sketch in the 11x14 sketchbook that I just sold, done at the request of the buyer. I had such a good time drawing it, though, that I couldn't resist adding a splash of color.Related content

Just photoshop. I shaded in in my sketchbook, then scanned it in and colored on top of it.

I love how you're able to retain the look of the pencil shading along with the photoshop coloring. I think that's so awesome. I'm gonna have to learn that.

I think the trick to it is to put your dark shading layer on the bottom, with your pencil lines on top of that, and then paint your highlights on a layer above the lines. I usually end up merging the layers about halfway through, but that's the way they're set up when I start.

Thanks! I don't really care for bulky, chunky character designs, so I probably streamlined him and made him look a bit more mobile just as a reflex.

Good old Robocop and I like the red visor just like on the action figure from the '90s the movie one had the black visor so this is cool!

Yeah, his visor just looked kinda boring in black. It was kind of an impulse change.
