This is BADASS AWESOME! And yeah, I can see the spawn-esque cape. But damn, it works.

Have you ever seen that issue of Spawn where Superman shows up? Well, he's kinda shadowy for copyright reasons. It's #10, I think. His cape is huge and awesome.

I'm sure he's not that mean when you get to know him

That's exactly what I was going for!! I wanted the viewer to sort of feel the power being given off by this guy, even though he is just standing there. Thanks so much!

Artworks like this is the reason why I never believe digital is better than traditional, in fact I feel trad has a more personal touch to it
Great to see Supes in his most iconic suit, lines and shading mesh perfectly!

Heh, I can't really say that traditional is always better than digital (since I am a digital colorist, after all ), but I do strongly believe that it's impossible to be good at digital if you don't have a grasp on traditional art. Plus, it's easy to get burnt out sitting in front of a screen all day, so cracking open the pens, brushes, and pencils is a good way to stay inspired.

Gavin, the following description 'in deed' belongs to this work. Not to the piece of garbage that you 'Tongue-In-Cheek' wrote about. The true horror is that he actually believed you. Anyway, this is a superb work of art, and what follws - I couldn't have said it better. Congrats. Drew.
"It's important that I mention you have created one wonderfully colourful work of art .The way you have realized your ideas is nicely spectacular. The quality of this artwork makes it discernible that you hammered away diligently with your absolute variation of powers. The shape of this work is exactly exact for the feeling that I contemplate you are struggling to capture, but in any case this comment is probably pointless. But, I expect that your use of form could have been done better as I see that it can't equal the brilliance observable in the whole of the creation. Finally I would like to illuminate that it has been a pleasure to write this criticism for you and I think it will empower you to develop your artwork."

Hahaha, the critique I left that guy was actually written by the "Critique-O-Matic" [link] , which was actually created by this same deviant. Most of his stuff is very comical. I appreciate the kind words about my sketch, though
I'm actually working on a boxing piece right now that I really think you'll like. There's no nudity or sexualization of the female combatants, but I still think you'll enjoy seeing it. I think the person who commissioned it is one of your watchers, actually.

Thanks very much! I love trying to put my own spin on iconic characters without changing the actual costume too much.

Thanks, man! The recent trend is to shorten Supes' cape, but I like it better long. Makes him look more regal.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I also prefer Supes with the more flowing regal looking cape, and I always thought that the short cape was more Captain Marvel's thing.

I don't like those lil' stubby capes on anybody! Those are little kid capes, like for Robin or something!
