Description
Just a speed painting of my favorite UFC guy, Randy Couture. I did this in about 2 hours in ArtRage 2.5 with no prior sketching (a true rarity for me). It's funny: I didn't bother to watch the Superbowl, but I made damn sure I caught UFC 71 (at least the main event, anyway). Go figure.

Thanks for stopping by and contributing. IT's a fledgling subreddit so it may take a while to get some good traffic.

The guy never ceases to amaze me! He's often the smaller guy in his fights, and he isn't a Jiu-jitsu ace or anything like that. He wins fights with smarts, heart, and strategy. That's why he rules

very agreed. He is a grappler but still not slouch in the other disciplines. A ju jutsu guy could never take him, but there is always that 1 guy... chuck. And for Chuck..its Rampage. And for Uriah.. Mike Brown. and so it goes. But Randy is tops.

Chuck's been on the decline, and since Randy's back at light heavyweight, we might see a re-match! After all, for Rampage it was Wanderlei, until Rampage beat the crap out of him. That's what I think I love most about the sport...the unpredictability of it. You just never know when that next huge upset is around the corner.

yep. and anybody can get caught. GSP v Sera most notable to me.

Oh, man, I was on my feet, gawking in disbelief! I love Sera, though. I'm happy he was able to hold the belt for a little while, even if it was a fluke. That guy's got one of the most entertaining mouths in MMA, and (despite recent losses) he's a damn good fighter. Another great upset was Randy vs. Tim Sylvia...one of my favorites, because Sylvia was a drooling monkey and the biggest waste of space in MMA. That was definitely the fight that made me a Randy fan.

Yeah, I did not give Randy much of a chance vs Tim. But Randy seems to be pretty good at proving folks wrong.

Thanks! I think this is one of the few times that I've drawn something completely digitally, without sketching it on paper first.

I like to let the paint do most of the work for me (even if it's digital paint ).

yeah well digital to me it's the same as traditional art. It's becoming more accepted too. There's a degree at my uni in digital art now it's just a nother medium really. To paint on a computer takes the same skill as painting on a canvas.

That's awesome, man. My school only offered one digital art course, and it was a joke. Of course, mine was very behind the times in terms of art. You either had to be Design or Studio Art. There was no Illustration, Sequential Art, or any courses of that ilk. *sigh* We did have a great Printmaking dept. though.

YEAH, Captain America! He's my favorite UFC fighter too. He's comeback fights were unbelievable, shame he retired again from the octagon or did that change now?

"Retirement." Bah! We've heard that one before. I was just thrilled to see someone beat up Tim Sylvia. That guy is about a half step up from a monkey on the evolutionary ladder.
