This is beautiful! I really love the light and the composition in this piece. The texture in the corck, and the mist. But It also seems as if there's water on the right side - or is that simply mist again? I'm honestly surprised at how you managed to get that lighting so well - I'm currently trying to figure out landscape painting techniques and light. The mountains are not super dark - but you managed to get that distance feel I think because of the empty space between the mountains and the path to the ruins. Did you use specific brushes to get that texture on the mountains (especially the nearby one on the left). Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much!! If you're trying to learn this stuff, I'd highly recommend the course I took. Its over on Learnsquared.com - Intro to Environment Painting by Maciej Kuciara. Alternatively check out John Park's gumroad. His stuff has helped me a lot.
There is suppose to be waterfalls in the distance. So that would be mist. There's a combination of photos used with painting to achieve this look. All this can be learned from the guys I mentioned Cheers

Thank you very much for your recommendations! Unfortunately I currently don't have money to spend on art. I believe that I still can learn a lot without having to pay for it as well. There are some really good tutorials out there online (for my level at least ). I did find a really good art book which I was interested in - I don't remember the title at the moment - I have written it down somewhere.
I will check out their art and see what's possible
