Happy belated birthday, Kagaho! Happy birthday, Ikki!Ikki's birthday is today. Kagaho's was on Friday if we are to believe that info they apparently published on a box with Kagaho's figurine. ("Bennu" is Egyptian version of a phoenix, thus the title
Yes, the title if from this.)A quick picture to celebrate the birthdays of my two most beloved fictional characters. It was the first time I' had ever used watercolour pencils, so some effects might have not been intended.
Actually they both were to be about the same size, but obviously I managed to measure something wrong. Again
Drawing these two so that they wouldn't look like twins is a challenge >.>; I don't care that Teshirogi would draw them in the same way (erm, actually she did >.>). Ikki is Ikki and Kagaho is Kagaho, no matter the soul Colour scheme for Ikki is a mix from manga and anime, actually. I like it more in this way. On the second thought, I could have drawn his hair darker.P.S. If a guy in the shop selling art supplies tells you that there is a difference in quality between normal watercolour pencils and professional ones, you'd better believe the guy. These that I got do not mix with water well >.>; And it can be seen.
P.S2. I think I've started to love drawing guys... shirtless guys -.-;
P.S3. Do not mix black watercolour pencil with other colours. Unless you want a dark patch of unidentified colour >.>

Wszystkiego najlepszego, Kagaho! Wszystkiego najlepszego, Ikki!
Urodziny Ikkiego są dzisiaj, urodziny Kagaho były w piątek (a przynajmniej tak twierdzi info dołączane do sprzedawanych figurek). (A ponieważ "bennu" to także feniks, tyle że egipski, więc w tytule dwa feniksy.)
Szybko narysowany obrazek urodzinowy dla moich dwóch najukochańszych postaci fikcyjnych. Chciałam wypróbować nowe kredki akwarelowe, ale ponieważ nigdy wcześniej ich nie wykorzystywałam, nie wszystkie efekty końcowe były przewidziane
W zamiarze obydwaj mieli być tej samej wielkości, ale znowu coś mi się pokopało przy mierzeniu. Jak zwykle zresztą. Trochę się namęczyłam, żeby nie wygadali jak para bliźniaków, co nie do końca było łatwe biorąc pod uwagę design postaci (czyt. Teshirogi obydwu rysuje tak samo >.>). Było nie było, Ikki to Ikki, a Kagaho to Kagaho (bez względu na pomysły S. Teshirogi). Schemat kolorystyczny dla Ikkiego ściągnęłam w większości z mangi. Kolor włosów z anime... Mogłam zrobić ciemniejsze. Nie przewidziałam, że kredki aż tak się rozmażą pod wpływem wody.
P.S. Jak wam sprzedawca w sklepie mówi, że jest różnica w jakości pomiędzy kredkami dla profesjonalistów a takimi zwykłymi to mu wierzcie. Ja swoje kupowałam w EMPiKu, czego teraz żałuję. Dzień później dowiedziałam się o tych profesjonalnych, oczywiście droższych, ale przy rysowaniu warto więcej zainwestować w dobry sprzęt. Teraz narzekam, bo praktyka wykazała, że moje kredeczki nie za dobrze mieszają się z wodą -.-; I to niestety widać. Marzą mi się kredki akwarelowe Progresso...
P.S2. Zaczynam lubić rysowanie facetów... bez koszul. Ach , te muskuły. Ahem.
P.S3. Nie ważne jak się rysuje normalnymi kredkami - w przypadku akwarelowych nie ma sensu mieszać kolorów z czernią. Wychodzi coś szaro-burego >.>

I have several ideas and plan to draw them eventually ^^ right now the biggest problem would be interaction, and drawing kids (never made a serious attempt so far
not long ago, I went to Chapelco ski resort and made a silly doodle as we took a coffee in oone of the restaurants. it may be polished and seriously colored, though it's really silly in concept xD
but, of course, I have more serious pictures in mind
and, what I mentioned in LJ. need practise for that! :'D
I still need practise with anatomy, poses and expressions, but be sure I'll do them in some moment ^^

Kredki akwarelowe powiadasz? jak na pierwsza próbę jest bardzo dobrze!
Podoba mi się przejście miedzy płomiennym kolorem Ikkiego a fioletem Kagaho, bardzo ładny
efekt z nachodzeniem ognia na zbroje Bennu. Co do podobieństwa wyszłaś z tego starcia
obroną ręką, bo panowie nie wyglądają jak bliźniacy! Ikki to Ikki, a Kagaho to Kagaho!

Oh my, what happened to the watercolor pencil dear?
Mine is Faber castell 12 water color and they work pretty fine, but I only used it for base color, the rest is teh real water color

I have no idea :/ For some reason mine don't seem to mix properly with water and I'm left with smudges on paper >.> Or maybe I used too much water on them
I love Faber Castells in general, but they had no watercolour pencils of this mark where I bought mine ;__;

i have to agree, i can accept the fact that the same souls was used, i can deal with physical similarities, but a person is the result of their life experiences, and they way they reacted to them.
Ikki and Kagaho have points in common, yes, but deep down, i find them very different. Kagaho is alot more emotional, and dependant on the others than Ikki is. i find Ikki to be alot more mature and self confident, too. but i love my little birdie as the silly emotard he is, lol.
ps: i was sure i was not going to be the only who remembered about emo birdo's Bday xD i didn't knew the exact date of Ikki's, but i'm a completely hopeless Kagaho fangirl xD

Funny how you mentioned Ikki being more mature XD I do agree with the statement and find it more than amusing that in fact Ikki is the younger one here XD
I'm pretty sure that there were more people that remembered about Kagaho's birthday, but not all of them happen to celebrate it with drawing pictures, just like I did. Before I learnt the date, I thought on posting such a pic somewhere around Ikki's birthday. It seemed... right after I read through Kagaho's fight with Aldebaran

oh, i couldn't help but lol when i noticed it. you know, in the latin fandom he's usually seen as a very though character, butfor me he always seemed like that only in the surface, he's extremely vulnerable in the emotional part

Art blocks are evil. Sometimes changing media helps with getting rid of them... in a way >.>; I have huuuge problem with digital drawing myself, but I still can draw using coloured pencils.

certainly. sometimes i plan on drawing when i arrive from college, and then the teachers give us so much work that it becomes impossible.
and yeah, i tried skipping steps in the past and for me it did not result xD (for other people sometimes it does), so i decided to start from the beggining, simple to more complex
yeah, i never watched Naruto though when i told one of my friends i'm planning on eventually doing it, she tolsd me "do it, but stay away from the fandom at all costs" xD. SS was, by its time, as popular as DBZ here and if the amount of them isn't enough, we have to deal with very grumpy aged up people :C

Here DBZ is more popular XD Maybe because the both series were aired about the same time. Saint Seiya first and DBZ just after that. And as DBZ is longer... SS was doomed to lose >.>;
Why shy? XD It's not that scary place on the whole XD And SS fandom there is really... peaceful compared to some other fandoms I happen to know.

ha ha, i guess that tends to happen in every fandom that gets overcrowded. here SS was aired one year before DB, so it had its chance especially since it was, for most kids, the first truly violent cartoon to be aimed at them, you may guess the fascination xD. one year later, in 1996 same story here, DB stole the whole spotlight, but it was enough for pretty much everyone remembering SS. but yeah, latin SS fandom is about constant wars as well, about freaking everything. plus zero sense of humor or even getting angry if you like what they don't, and that way it doesn't work.
