Description Illustration for the first chapter of my novel "On wings of birds". It starts with Theo looking through the glass of window at the birds - the same way the story ends, actually. Just now, he is thinking about the future and he can only imagine it to be bright, at the end he just can't imagine anything at all.

Wow, there's so much detail here! I love it! Especially the beautiful plants (they look so lifelike) and the little origami crane, I imagine it has some sort of significance to the story?

Thank you so much for such a lovely and awesome comment, it makes me so happy reading comments like this I guess the plants look that way because these grow on my actual windowsill, the smaller is zebra succulent and the flowering one is a species of orchid. And yes, the origami has meaning and it also appears in the last chapter and last illustration, because Theo found the origami long ago, and in the end he unfolds it and finds that it contains a message from his friend which killed herself. Thank you once again for your interest!

What a sad story
I had one of those zebra succulents at some point, I overwatered it though and it died... oh well. Maybe I'll try again at some point

Yes it is.

Oh yes, I think overwatering them is quite easy to do, I have problems with succulents in general. If you lived near I would give one of the orchids I have, this species is so easy to grow and it blossoms beautifully

Aww, thank you! They look lovely. I'll look out for them in the shops if you say they're a hardy species
