good work i could tell it was Al Pacino. the only thing that bothers me is the eye to left kind of looks like he has mascara on. It's still a good drawing and has a very good likeness of him.

The picture is so scary, dark atmosphere... The catch-light was great well remembered!

Im new to drawing as well... I usually focus on photography and appreciating others art. I have a deeper appreciation for attention to detail since I have started drawing though hehe.
I like the detail in his hair and eyes. I agree with the comment about the brows and pupils being a bit too dark. If you lightened those up I think you would have a spot on portrait! Very impressive detail though... keep up the great work, if your doing this well after 6 months I know you will be amazing in another 6 months hehe.
I agree with you, it is inspiring as a noob artist to look at some of these amazing drawings. It reminds me to spend time focusing on practice, practice, practice hehe!

Cool! I like the close cropped composition that brings the viewer in. Your style of mark making adds a lot of life and energy to the piece. Your proportions look pretty close. You did a really good job of capturing his likeness and gave him a great countenance to his face. You have a really good range of values. My only gripe is that the values for his eyes, brows and mouth look a bit too dark. But it's a great piece of work!

Wow! i am honestly blown away by your comments, especially as you have graduated with an Associates Degree in Illustration.
I have only been drawing for about 6 months, and when i see some of the work here on DA i realise that i have a long long long way to go.
Some of the Artists portraits look like photographs, and i wonder how they can draw that well,i can only guess with a lot of practice.
Anyway,i really do appreciate your comments and thanks again.
