You conversion to black and white from color appears to be good and your exposure seems to be ok as well. Your focus seems a bit soft. Sometimes this can work in a black and white image but but most of the time it hurts a monochrome image rather than helps it. Black and white relies on sharp clear focus to deliver the maximum impact possible from the photograph.
I like the framing and composition a great deal in this image and think you have a good eye, this is a wonderful candid portrait. Kudos to you on spotting a wonderful candid moment and taking a great photograph. You can possibly go back in to your PSD file if you did not do this previously and sharpen the image to remove some of the softness, also remember to flatten your layers before saving the PSD as a JPG again.
Over all though I do like the photograph very much and I think it has some nice contrasts.
