A critical part of any platoon, the Combat Medic had one of the most important duties in the entire New Imperial Military: keep their wounded alive and get them back into the fight as soon as possible. Medics were determined individuals, willing to endure heavy artillery, airstrikes, and even gruesome front-line combat if it meant they could save a fellow trooper. Because extensive time and resources were put into the development and training of New Imperial soldiers, it was of the most important as many of these troops as possible were kept alive to ensure victory in the long run. Thus, Combat Medics were equipped with advanced medical tools such as injector guns, field cauterizers, and sometimes portable defibrillators. Like their fellow Infantry Troopers, they were also genetically augmented, but their distinctive improvements included enhanced senses that increased both their medical skills and mission survivability, and natural resistance to most major diseases and infections.
