ContrappostoTorso made from basalt lava
I do like the silky surface of the basalt lava. It is extremely well suited for the human body. In the sunlight the cristals are shining from the little hollows.
About 60 cm high
Finished 7/2012

Ok, work with this idea, how many times have you seen a beautiful young woman make this shape on a dance floor, Think of her, eyes closed, long, straight blond hair framed and flaying wildly in strobe light, silk or satin seductively hugging every curve. Heat, light and shadow. This is the beauty of your work, you capture the essence of female sensuality so very beautifully.

Thanks, Liam! It is funny for me that you think in dancing, movement, and motion. For me it is always the frozen moment. May be, because the material is so hard and strong and still. Another aspect is that my figures for me are alwasy earthbound. As you say in another comment, voluptuous, feminine bodies with bellies. So, for me they rest in inner peace. Looking at them I always can grasp this feeling and it transferes to me, even though the pose may be a dynamic one.
