Trans-female? So she was born with a body of male mouse, but is a female?

She was born with the set of genitals that society currently views as "male genitalia" and identifies as female, yes. But it's not nice to call any part of her "male."

Ah, so I understood that right. What people in Crossed Claw's (and specifically Hollow) think of a person like Claudia. Does she has to struggle with some strong prejudices against her? I guess it might be so, if Hollow's inhabitants attitude towards learning or things outside their daily experience is any indication.

Yeah, definitely. Claudia has faced severe transphobia from a neighboring mouse community she used to live in. I don't think transphobia is as bad in the Hollow. People there can be very disrespectul towards transfolk out of ignorance, but I don't think they'd try to physically harm them for being trans. Not like her previous home.
People like Lotte, Pike, and Delius, though, they wouldn't think anything of it. They're very accepting and came from communities with morals similar to their own.
I still have some things to flesh out, specifically what types of communities live on this same continent,,,

Continent? Do you have a map of your world, perhaps?
Poor Claudia. I guess that's why she lives on the lower levels of library, since there are no ignorant people there to bother her. Unless, she, Lotte and Delius all have their own homes on the surface?

yeh a crudely drawn one. this continent is shaped like a goldfish heh
hmm they all spend most of their time below the ground. Most of their old communities also lived underground. It's more of a climate preference, if anything. Lotte's library just used to be run from the top floor because she wanted to reach out to the rabbits of the Hollow, but that didn't work out too well.
hm, come to think of it, i don't know how the economy or government is currently run in the Hollow, either. i think lotte's library is like, pretending to be out of business, but how is she able to still run it in secret? who built that large underground library in the first place? where did all those books come from? if it was all there before the Hollow started moving up ground, then how do none of the higher-ups seem to know about it? or if they did know about it, why didn't they do anything about it until now?

Well... While reading this comic, I pretty much assumed that Hollow is this kind of small community where all people know each other to some degree and they haven't got any serious problems that would require having a leader (or government) to solve.

yeah that's how i saw it too, but agh it's starting to look more complicated to me, since there was a very strict government for this place when they all still lived underground.

When Pike or Cinder realize that Dewey and Ria are missing, they might try to convince Hollow's occupants to help with searching for them. You could use that scene to establish what kind of official leader(s) they have in Hollow, if any.

that's not gonna happen. Think i should just let it be, and the strict group of leaders that ruled over the Hollow in the past disbanded when the predators stopped being a threat.
and Copper, the guy leading the riot to light the field on fire, I think he's the closest thing to a leader. Taking charge of the whole village, finally burning down Lotte's library... hmm. If anyone in there survives that fire, they have a heck of a lot more research to do, and they're not gonna find all the answers in those books.

Yeah, that would work too. Will we learn what's his motivation for burning down library instead of simply ignoring it? As you said, not many people in Hollow visit that library anyway.

yeah, i dont want to leave any loose ends. the end of chapter 5 is like,,, when Ria and Sandy's story in the Hollow ends. But I want to write more about the Hollow they're leaving behind, and develop the other characters more. So, y'know, crossed claws could become sort of like the beginning plot where many other stories branch off from there.
But I still plan to take a break from it when chapter five is over, and start a new comic with a different location and characters.

I understand. Writing/drawing the same story for a long time can become quite tiring, if not boring. From time to time every artist needs to focus on some other thing, a palate cleanser so to speak.
