He has the perfect voice for alternative music, and yet he elects to be a mainstream pop-star...
Kinda gay, ok, now i'm done.

Really dislike that band (hahaha), but this is quite amazing, it's so simple, yet greatly detailed, the colours are warm and give a sense of 'home'
It really brings the mind comfort in the simple, yet beautiful things in life, such as a sunset over the clear blue waters, a precursor to simplier times, and fond memories.
A time where it didn't matter what your house looked like, how run down or derelict it was, it only mattered the people who were there to comfort you in it, the true meaning of home, and that it's where the heart is.

People, this isn't stolen. =<

(Unless someone can give proof contradicting this link WITH the image and the date of upload that is before Nov 20,2009.)
It is a very nice piece of art though. <3 Gratz. 8D

If this is a study of Jacek Yerka's painting, you better cite him.

Indeed very similar to this: [link]
But from the making of it seems that they didn't use that as a reference.

C-a-s-p-i-a In reply to amaliabastos [2012-10-17 23:36:21 +0000 UTC]
If you put it in reverse, it takes it away bit by bit. It doesn't show brush work or any of the actual 'creation' that went in to it.

Maybe, since some people doubt you, you should link to your portfolio 'about' page?
[link] ? =3 There's no reason for doubt after that honestly. If a few people think you stole, let them. You and most people know you DID draw your art. =3

Just because you won a prize with it doesnt mean you created it. How do you explain the other link then?

That should be in reverse. It shows no creation or brush work of this. Just uses Photoshop to strip away layers. Actually post a speed painting of it, then I might be more convinced but I am adamant that this piece of artwork is not yours.

(Please read my other comment before this one, this might confuse you. x3)
And you also mentioned "brush work."
On proof for one of their other pieces, if you continue to scroll you will eventually see some brush work for the bee body in this piece:
[link]
Again, gallery is of similar style. They have 2 portfolios.
([link] this is where I got my info from)
And so on.
I really don't see any evidence that it is stolen. =<

I know my reply is long, but I would really appreciate you answering and us having a conversation or calm debate. ;3; You can reply in a note if you'd like.
Why do you think this is stolen in the first place? I am very curious. owo (Not trying to argue. x3 )
Just because you found /some/ of the image on another site? That doesn't mean it's stolen lol, especially when this is a 2009 upload and has had plenty of time to have been taken by others and uploaded on other sites.
This person gave enough proof. I don't know what you're talking about when you say it's nothing. o_O
The proof for my artwork is only in layers too. I don't have 1 speedpaint. Does that mean my art is stolen?
Their proof shows the layers AND process of how they created some of the work, such as the wooden boards.
You have yet to give proof yourself this is stolen. As far as I know, they've given at least one good proof that they are the original artist. All you did was find an image off another site which doesn't mean it is stolen or not. x3
Don't get me wrong. =< I hate theft, I go after it as often as I can. (You can tell by the First drawing on my page and I have a history of sucessfully getting rid of thieves.)and I COULD be wrong, which is why as I said before, I'm really curious as what proof you have to make the accusation this is stolen? OTHER than an image you found from a google search engine or something.
And look at the rest of the gallery, all pieces are very similar. How could an art thief have a gallery full of 1-2 styles? From my experience with MANY art thieves, they usually have various styles that range greatly, from a beginner artist to a professional.
Again, sorry for a long reply. D: Thanks for taking the time to hopefully at least read this~ =3

I was thinking it looks a lot like Jacek Yerka's work and then I found your comment.
So it really is Yerka? No wonder it got DD
π: 0 β©: 1
Bakanika In reply to Bakanika [2012-10-17 19:08:51 +0000 UTC]
ok I made mistake - it's not Yerka. But in my defence it really really looks like sth Yerka would make. I mean it's great and all but it even feels like Yerka, all that warm melancholy, the way two different spaces meet and the wooden city [link] ...
I'm sorry for my hasty accusation! But still because it's so much like Yerka's it lack originality... just my humble opinion. And sorry again.

If you mean rip off as in stolen, it's not as proof given above.
If you mean he copied the idea.. then Idk. x3
