PLEASE DOWNLOAD FOR FULL SIZE.I've finally completed it! Well, this was one hell of a piece to work on...As I've explained in my previous WIP uploads, I didn't like the way my first attempt came out so I started on another...
I will say I definitely like this one more and am quite proud of how this one turned out (which is quite rare for me to say).
reference photo-cannot seem locate it at the moment.
I will probably add more shading to the left side in the background since it looks odd...Along with some other little tweaks here and there.
total working time: 60+ hours...
tools: Derwent graphic pencils HB, B-B7, blending stumps for shading..
14X18 in drawing.
It is now sitting snugly in a custom frame.
I had a blast working on this...He's quite fun to draw, despite a couple moments of agitation and such...
Please ignore the glare at the top of his head..

An amazing job. The details are so precise and the shading perfect.
I personally have never used a grid but I fail to see what is wrong with using a grid and measuring, especially when it comes to something as complex as this. If you got even one of the details wrong it would throw out the whole piece.
