Description
My original idea was to give Arri a pet mouse since Arrietty in the original book wanted a pet mouse but her parents wouldn't let her.
Instead, she got the Borrower equivalent of a house cat.

Background:
Arri found Sock while out Borrowing one winter's day, going out while the Beans were awake since it would be warmer in the house. It was there she found the little guy hanging out by the kitchen stove, where it was warmest. Arri was content to leave him be, but jumping spiders are curious little beasties. So, she ended up having the 8-legged guy follow her around the whole day. It was kind of endearing. Arri decided to bring him home with her. After all, it might be useful to have a pet spider around to make sure no big pest bugs go into the house and get into her food. And so, now one can find a little house cat of a spider hanging out in his little handmade nest made of cotton balls and fabric scraps by Arri’s stove.
Extras:
His name comes from the little white markings on his feet!
He does indeed pick fights with some pretty big bugs because, fun fact, jumping spiders can take on bugs almost the same size as them. Some even go after bugs bigger than them if they feel like it.
Arri also figured out how to train him to give her a high five on command.
