The Greek god of trade, wealth, luck, fertility, animal husbandry, sleep, language, thieves, and travel. He is the patron of shepherds. He is one of the cleverest and most mischievous of the Olympians. He invented the lyre and was the herald and messenger of Mt. Olympus. Born to the Pleiades Maia in the mountain in Arcadia, and is not surprising the son of Zeus. When he was young, he found a tortoise killed and made the first lyre. He got hungry and stole 50 of Apollo’s sacred cattle. Sacrificing them to the gods and his name, this is an elaborate scheme to get him and his mother recognized and get the respect and honor they deserve.

Apollo noticed that half of his cattle is missing and found Hermès in Maia’s cave, interrogating Hermès who claims he is just a baby and did not know about cows, Apollo brought him to Zeus who was laughing him self to death to the whole situation. Hermès wins Apollo over by playing his lyre and Apollo trades his role as a herdsman for the lyre and claims that he will be a messenger of the gods and is given the Caduceus the staff with two snakes coiled on it “it’s the thing that’s on ambulances”. He has winged shoes which can help him fly and also run at high speeds. He is a fast talker.

He had parts in a lot of Greek stories and killed the hundred eyed giant. He doesn’t like Yahweh because of what he did to the Roman/Greek pantheon and how not a lot of people worship him. But he did get the last laugh by getting his symbol and his shoes on a lot of stuff in modern day society.

He gave Charlie a lyre and some cattle.
