One of the few main characters I'm missing. I never found one of those. Hasbro's releasing another one in a 2 pack with Thunderbird, but I don't really like Hasbro's figs, so I don't know if I'll get it. I've started collecting DC Universe figs now.

You've got a kickass collection. I wish I had such a cool, diverse set of action figures, but I only own four, and one of them is pretty much crap. xD

I owned about nine x-men figures "From the 90s show" Those were my only marvel figs for years. Sometimes smaller collections are better, it's all in the displaying.

Pardon the pun, but you've got a marvelous collection! Definitely dwarfs my Marvel collection. Lol. I'm so jealous of that Captain America! He's so hard to come by! BTW, where's Ms. Marvel at?! You can't have an Avengers line-up without 'er!

And one more thing -- whose head did you swap for Rogue? She looks better without that scary mug o' hers.

Ya, actualy found that on vacation in Seattle. "What a find." Ms. Marvel is one I could never find. It was a Walmart exclusive and I just never found one. Saw one at my comic shop, but I didn't want to pay thirty-five bucks for a subpar sculpted figure. I'd still be collecting Marvel figs, if not for the switch to Hasbro. Their figs, just can't compare to what Toy Biz offered and their 35% more expensive.
Thank you for commenting.

Femmes-Fatales In reply to GeekTruth64 [2010-09-25 02:10:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I got Ms. Marvel from a comic book shop for like $20. She was an essential for me because of her overall importance to the Marvel Universe.

I actually like Hasbro's newer stuff -- like with their two-packs. Once I popped on Elektra's extra head (albeit repainted blonde) on my Emma Frost she became the most gorgeous figure. I think the Hasbro females are nice 'cause they don't have the bad fupas or funny bums/boobs like Toy Biz had but neither company managed to get pretty faces like Mattel has with their DC figures.

GeekTruth64 In reply to Femmes-Fatales [2010-09-25 21:38:28 +0000 UTC]

You're right about the fem figures, hasbros do have a better mold, but I hate the paint job on most of the figures. The plasic is cheaper than Toy Biz and they are much smaller. And like I said they're 30% more expensive.
"Elektra was a pretty good fig though."

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Femmes-Fatales In reply to GeekTruth64 [2010-09-26 05:03:39 +0000 UTC]

Yeah the paint jobs can kill it. But it's not like Toy Biz was so much better either -- Psylocke and Scarlet Witch have REALLY shoddy paint jobs. But I like their smaller size for the gals strictly because they're no longer the hulking maneaters who towered over their male counterparts.

GeekTruth64 In reply to Femmes-Fatales [2010-09-26 17:55:12 +0000 UTC]

My Pylocke has an exellent paint job, but Scarlet Witch does suck. I'm not saying every Toy Biz figure was perfect, there were several that sucked. But come on; Toy Biz had Sentinal, Galactus, and Apocalypse build a figures. "Hasbro has nothing that can compare to that."

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Femmes-Fatales In reply to GeekTruth64 [2010-09-26 20:45:18 +0000 UTC]

Well that's because Toy Biz already took all the big name A-list characters people wanted in terms of BAF. I mean, how many giant characters are there in the Marvel Universe? I think the figures are getting progressively better -- especially with the upcoming cleavage-bearing Black Widow who definitely doesn't have that bad widow's peak.

GeekTruth64 In reply to Femmes-Fatales [2010-09-26 20:58:55 +0000 UTC]

How about the Watcher or a new Giantman? Toy Biz had Abomination and Sasquatch which were huge figures in their own right. I can't think of a single one from Hasbro. Granted I haven't looked at the newest Hasbro figs, so I may give them another shot, but I've been collecting DCU Classics for the past few years "Also gotten very expensive, but almost worth it for the quality and I can't see Hasbro matching them."

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Femmes-Fatales In reply to GeekTruth64 [2010-10-01 23:51:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, no one can frickin' touch DC Universe Classics. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE their stuff. Their female faces are to die for -- except Mary Marvel I really don't know what happened that made her a butterface. My DCU Classics collection is growing REALLY fast. Although, I'm EXTREMELY pissed off that the one figure I've been dying for them to make since its creation is now a Wal-Mart exclusive (Zatanna) because for some reason NO Wal-Mart in Toronto carries the line.

GeekTruth64 In reply to Femmes-Fatales [2010-10-02 03:53:29 +0000 UTC]

Ya I can't stand the Walmart Exclusive deals, because you can never find them. I've nearly got everyone I want at this point. If they weren't so expensive I'd be able to get more, but at $15 bucks a pop, it's almost ridiculous.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Femmes-Fatales In reply to GeekTruth64 [2010-10-02 04:26:09 +0000 UTC]

You want ridiculous, try $24.99. That's how much they are here in Canada. The Marvel Legends toys are significantly cheaper but the DC Universe Classics figures are INSANE. It's more than $50 just for two action figures. It's not very fair to collectors. I've spent around $750 for the ones I have.

... all this and I still don't have Giganta's freakin' torso! She's basically the reason why I expanded my DCUC collection past just Wonder Woman and yet she's still the huge glaring omission in it.

I'm surprised you have any at that price. When I first started collecting Marvel Legends I got the first series Ironman and then Captain America $9 respectivly. Some like Silver Surfer and Mr. Fantastic I got for as little as $6. It's too expensive these days. I don't mind paying more for quality, but they aren't worth that much. As for the BaF, I just wish they'd give the option to buy it separately. I've got two BaF that are left unfinshed because of one piece. And I hate buying stupid "unwanted" figures to BaF.

Femmes-Fatales In reply to GeekTruth64 [2010-10-03 04:44:34 +0000 UTC]

I started collecting Marvel Legends much too late -- as such I'm missing A LOT of key characters like Captain America, Thor and a decent Iron Man (I only have the Maria Hill 2-pack version). But the first ML figure I ever got was Spider-Woman which was a gift at Christmas.

I started collecting DCUC around the fourth wave but I still never managed to collect all the ones I wanted early on because I thought they'd be in stock for some time but around the fifth or sixth wave the figures from the first three waves started disappearing. That's why I don't own Robin, Nightwing or Harley Quinn. They were $15 when I first started collecting them too -- so it's all a crap shoot. They look great and all but it's hard on my wallet and makes me endlessly mad because of the rarity of some figures.

I own all of DCU series 1-4, but that was before the jump in price and some of those I got at the now out of business KB toys. I pretty much got all my figs from there. They marked the less desirable figs down to $5 bucks for the last three weeks they were open. Haven't even seen anything past series 6 around here.

Lucky you. I would die to see them at that cheap. But I keep buying them because they're purdy -- and they're making in-scale figures which are articulated unlike a lot of the DC Direct figures.

And I love how a lot of people are complaining about how often they see the Gotham City 5-pack because I'd LOVE to have it but it's nowhere in Canadian retail.
