Description
Got my fancy hole cutting bits in today and cut the top vent for the case mod. Also got my speaker grill that was going into said newly drilled hole so that's all installed and looking pretty as shit! Painted the top part of the case and did a test fit to make sure everything was going together okay and things look solid. Got some bugs in my paint so I need to clean that up once the paint cures enough to sand. Mostly please as a pig in shit about this so far. Now I just gotta do the soft mod once I get a new hdd and everything will be basically ready to roll!Related content

I'm always on the lookout for new case mods and this is good stuff.
I'm curious to see how you'll mount the new hard drive, and if there will be other internal mods, like a ram upgrade, or a fan duct. In my experience after slimming, the processors' temperatures ran an average 11C higher after removing the drive trays, so I built a duct around the heat sinks. Not to mention added new thermal paste. If you live somewhere hot it makes a lot of difference.

I dont intend to make any other changes like ram or anything like that and as far as the heat issue goes theres a thin line 120mm fan under the grill in the middle and it pulls a ton of air through the case and out the top right above the heatsink so I doubt there is any heat increase honestly. Yeah a duct is a good idea to direct airflow for cooling if you have the space for it.

Thanks.
I wont be doing anything with the ram, but will most likely be adding new thermal paste for sure. I'm not too worried about the temps honestly with the 120mm fan directly above the heat sink pulling the air right out of the top of the case, so that shouldn't be an issue I don't think. As far as the internals go regarding the hdd and such, I've got some flat plastic pieces from various other projects I intend to re-purpose as trays to mount the parts on. I need to build up some stand offs for them but its a pretty easy situation to deal with.
