Description If you haven't been watching Transformers Prime, you are missing one of the best iterations of the Transformers mythos to date.

Also the toys are pretty damn snazzy as well

The only problem with the toys so far has been Arcee's gun is this gigantic ugly mess of an accessory that I cannot abide! So I pulled out the dremel and started doing some surgery on the piece. I was trying to give her weapon a more show accurate look cause the clunky piece of crap she came with was terrible and it just looked bad with the toy, so hopefully I've done justice to her gun and made it a bit more true to show form.

I'm nearly done with this little project but it still needs a bit of fine tuning before painting. Very pleased with how this is coming out actually, and should have it painted shortly.

Who knows, I may end up casting it and putting it in my store for other Transformers fans.

you should cast this, make a cool
accessory for the flamewar ime
trying to make from this figure
looks good, made it look more screen accurate and i like that it still covers the hand

I may, I haven't decided yet and right now I just don't have the materials to do so, so its kind of an after thought at the moment.

I frequent a few transformers sites but I don't know that it is worth it to make this honestly but who knows I may decide to.

Oh and thanks, that's what I was going for trying to maintain coverage and have it still be functional. I hated that gigantic piece of junk she came with. I mean I get it that its a kid toy and they don't want they choking and it has to meet safety standards but I wanted something a bit more screen accurate

yeah the giant gun was a bit odd
i like it smaller
i did nab the shapeways version for first edition arcee
to make her look a tad better
but still material wise, i should have gone for the
expensive detail
and i understand you on materials, I do custom work as commissions
repaints, etc. and its expensive to do so
specially when it cost more to ship the figure than you made on it

Yeah I just don't have the money for silicone at the moment to make the molds plus I have a ton of other things that need casting before I get to the Arcee piece so it might not be soon if I do get to make it. Who knows maybe I will start posting pics and see what kind of response I get on some of the Transformers boards and see if there is enough interest in it.

A tutorial would probably be better because its super easy and doesn't take much skill to do really, I mean other than using a dremel of course.

when it comes to custom work on figures

Yeah the dremel is invaluable. When I was doing the Arcee gun it got away from me a bit and I cut a little bit too deep so I need to clean that up a bit if I do end up casting the piece.

used to I would just heat up the plastic i wanted to cut away
and use a hobby knife, then i would slip some times
and end up slicing the crap outta my fingers
thats why i go for my side grinder, use the lowest setting
and do it slowly, and then clean it up with a dremel if necessary
