"Hey Diddle Diddle,
The Cat and the Fiddle,
The Cow jump'd over the Moon,
The Little Dog laugh'd to see such Craft,
And the Dish ran away with the Spoon."

This poem was always one that interested me, with its seemingly nonsensical words and strong rhythm. When I was younger, I wondered if it was allegorical, and more recently having looked into the history of the rhyme, have found that there are a lot of different origin stories and theories on the meaning. I am still no more enlightened than before, but I decided to do a take on it and produce illustrations for each of the characters mentioned. I felt that the creepy edge that comes across through the rhyme, especially when said in a sing song voice is what I wanted to put across in each image.

So here is The Cow. I started with her just doodling one evening and really liked the style that emerged. Let me know what you think!
