FLCL and Utena's lead writer is working on Redline and the next mecha show from Bones called Star Driver. Both look very promising, Redline moreso.

Yeah, that's Japanese Gir alright, they're not even pretending. I call shenanigans! Actually the whole artstyle is pretty similar to Zim. They should've just made an Invader Zim anime. Seeing Gainax make that would be awesome sauce. But this looks promising too.

Imaishi said P&S is going to be similar to Dead Leaves from the get-go

but I kinda expect it to have a larger focus on story since it's going to be a TV series and all. or maybe they'll go for a humorous episodic formula which will be fine too.

Dead Leaves is one of my favorite movies, it has to be in my top ten overall, and top five animated.
