Description
An armoured Orc from the Scorpion Legion.Okay, the idea was to draw one of my earlier orc pictures with Promarkers. So I 'lightboxed' my Armoured Orc pic and started using the markers...
You can see i started with the fine nibs for the face and right-side but then got into the thicker nibs and started to use them more freely (the chin, helmet & background.) The problem was the set i had was a bit limited for colours, not for the Orcs skin but for the helmet greys and blues.
I wanted the scorpion tail to be pale browns like the most venomous ones but that, in truth probably destroys the colour balance of the picture
Promarkers on A4 bleedproof paper and a bit of white ink for highlights.

This came out wonderful, and I think you successfully worked around your color balance issues.
I don't really have any advice for more successful coloring. The only thing I can recommend is I've never drawn on bleedproof paper per se, but paper designed specifically for marker usage gives you more blend time with the markers.

Ah, that's good to know. So I was probably getting more blend time without even knowing it thanks for your comments though, appreciate it!

Thanks! There are a few bits I would do differently if I did it again but on the whole, I really enjoyed doing it. The quality/effect of the markers is cool, especially the alternate nibs and I think I'll use black inks for outlines and so on when I do another

It almost looks like construction paper than markers! I don't mean that as an insult at all either. Very cool effect you got on this one with the markers. Unfortunately, I don't know much about markers to help you out! But I do like this!

Thank you what is construction paper? Is that like tracing paper? Thanks for the comment I really want it to look like those amazing comic book marker pieces you see on here so I know I have to practice a lot!!

Hmm perhaps it is called something else in the U.K. It's pretty much just different colored paper that kids use to make things out of, or to color on.
Either way, it's a nice piece!

Ah, I know what you mean! It's actually a pad made by pro marker for their markers, it's kinda thin, like a cross between printer paper and grease proof baking paper!
