I like her little hidden braid. Β It is like her hair is probably longer than it looks. Β I also like the understated staff and depiction of magic. Β One thing that bugs me about a lot of Mage pictures here are these overdone staffs and a lack of any magical display. Β What is the meaning of the crescent moon?

Well the crescent moon is ther to indicate a specific cult or maybe a belonging to a kind of specific sect, with moon adoration.
It's there to give more story to the character.
