I think the barcode is worse. It's common here in Japan, and looks awful.

In Europe this style died in the 80s, but in fact, I do like Japan just because it's unique style-mix from the 50s 'til today ... it's cute (same with GB - big Islands with big history & tradition)

Yeah, Japanese mix up the old and retro with the ultra-modern, not caring at all about regular aesthetics. It's often interesting. Sometimes the young people can achieve a new fad without any corporations involved. My daughter dresses like she's in London during the height of the 1960s when she goes casual, but her school uniform is like something from the 1930s.

yep ... in the 60s/70s, many of my relatives looked almost exactly like this very famous comedian (actually with less hair, and "wet look barcode style" - that was a typical post-war central Eurpean look)   www.amazon.de/Schelmereien-1-A…
