Description I was just messing around I'm still not sure whether I want goblins to look more human or monstrous when they are put in to the whole bound by blood world story stuff, but I drew it and so here it is.

I have commisions open if you'd like to see

Nice!  Keep messing around with the designs, and I'm sure you'll find one you like the best!

Eventually I'll settle on which way I wanna go, maybe it's a mistake to use goblins since they have a history behind them, but I like giving new takes on traditional monsters.

I'd say keep them in.  I would love to hear your take on them, and how they're going to impact the story.  Some archetypes were meant to be played with.

I'll  just have to suck it up and settle on a design. They were more something I'd  planned for supporting  stories and world building. I'd meant to make multiple interlocking  stories, goblins more important in some stories than others

Sounds like an extended universe type story!  Nothing wrong with throwing goblins in as a supporting story element.  As you said, they are a pretty cool, but easy (sort of?) enemy for a band or heroes to face!

That's the plan, I don't plan on Antony being the only main character by the time the story is done.
I mean in the end even if they aren't important to the main story, they help for world building. Then I can use the setting for further stories.
I love goblins, kobolds and all those usually low level enemy monster races for rewriting. It's fun to give creatures usually just used as fodder for evil armies their own culture.

Man, you really do have a lot planned out for the story!  It'll be so nice to see it on paper (er, the internet, I guess).
Who wouldn't love kobolds!  Giving them a new and refreshing backstory seems like a great idea!  Everyone loves an underdog, even if they are working for the villains.

I've got a lot of stuff that I'd love to do for the whole story, I just wish there were more time in the day to get it all done. Oh well just keep working and page by page I'll keep getting it out there.

I honestly love all those little monsters, some of the best characters I've made or played in D&D have been monsters. "Gnuk-Gnuk The Blackfang" scourge of the seven skies, the kobold pirate that scammed the party to buying him an airship, and
"Ahk the Goblin Ninja" who I had to write a full multiple page backstory to get the dm to let me play were among my favorites.
I was actually going to make a story about monsters in a fantasy world on my old page before I fell out of art for a while, I had part of a page done and had started a title page, but by the time I came back to it I'd moved on and decided to go with Antony instead.
I think there is just something really weirdly compelling about the pathetic low level monsters that no one really thinks about.

Gnuk-Gnuk the Blackfang sounds like the coolest kobold ever!  Did he have that airship through the whole game?  Also, the DM needed a book report on your goblin?  Did he just not think it would be a good idea, or not see how it would fit into the story?

On the bright side, now there will be side characters and background characters in Bound by Blood with amazing and fleshed out stories of they're own!

Gnuk-Gnuk got used twice, first he appeared as an npc in a campaign I ran, then he was used in a Skulls and Shackles campaign. Unfortunately when I played him he met an untimely but glorious end in battle against an enemy sorcerer. His trusted lieutenant  did survive though, I had convinced most of the party to play Kobolds and be a tribe.

Unfortunately the game with Ahk was one of the first times I tried getting into an online game and it fell apart saddeningly quickly. but yeah the dm said he didn't see how a goblin would work.
The game's setup was ambitious, an assassin's creed style of pvp where one group of players championing freedom tried to outmaneuver and gather more influence than the other who championed order. Only the more chaotic side was already full, so in order to convince the dm it could work I wrote a several page backstory about how Ahk was born more intelligent than other goblins and convinced a desperate commander to let him live if he could get them through the hobgoblin warlord's defenses. Really it took several pages to set up the details to the point a lvl 1 goblin managed to convince them not to kill him and proved his worth.

I still haven't abandoned the original idea completely, I'm trying to set up the bound by blood world to be a bit more different than other fantasy worlds, so I'm not using all the traditional fantasy races and monsters and am coming up with some of my own. So maybe someday I'll tell that original story idea in a different setting, I'll add it to the pile of stories I want to tell eventually.

And songs will be sung about Gnuk-Gnuk and his escapades 'till the end of time.  At least he got to go out in a blaze of glory!

Dang, Ahk sounds like a character with a TON of potential!  Too bad that campaign fell apart.  Hopefully his concepts can be re-purposed for anther campaign, even if its just as a NPC.  It would be a shame to not revisit the concepts again.

Eventually all your stories will be told.  It just might take some time.

I still stand by if the dm hadn't been been a huge jerk about being more traditional pirates and whiny that we were all playing kobolds, and had let us do the plan I had of digging kobold warrens under the castle for us important creatures, then we would have had the element of surprise and a good retreat route. Oh well.
I've been working on pointing out how ridiculous that guys whole things have to be the way I imagined them thing, and making him feel bad especially when he playing a spy for a good aligned country wouldn't let my necromancer do anything evil. Especially annoying since I pointed out he was part of an organization that assassinated people, for the greater good but he was doing evil things as well, but threatened to kill my character for my doing evil for the greater good.

Ahk would be amazing to play, maybe someday, unfortunately it's hard to find games where playing a goblin is acceptable and doesn't get you labeled as "that guy" who likes to derail the campaign to be a jerk. Which to be fair I've played with those guys and I don't blame people for being on the lookout for them.
