Description
This is one of my first attempts at oil painting. This is a 16x20 black and white grissaile for an anticipated oil portrait. I'm pleased with the modeling of the forms and use of value, however, the face is not what I had hoped. I'm having trouble capturing a likeness in oil. I've kept the work very loose and tried to lose edges where possible so I can do more refinement in later stages. Maybe my unhappiness with the face will improve as I work on it. If you have comments, please be kind. I'm very new to oil paints.
