Again a story about Chaka, Kion an Timara. I really love their dynamic.

I will try to do some comic pages again, many things happened in my life in a short time.

Anyway.

Kion couldn't say he was sad. Chaka returned some month ago now. The pride was so happy, he bright back new blood, some spotted lions and also their long lost sister Shani. They imediatly inform their parents and it had great celebrations to celebrate this new era. Zira wasn't a threat anymore, Kiara and Kovu united their pride, Chaka returned from his journey, Shani was alive, and the Grassland had now a king for their queen, and new pridemembers.
All of this was great, of course. But it was not what he has planned.

After his brother departure, he secretly hoped that maybe he could take his place as Timara's betrothed. He liked the girl, and she seemed to kind of liked him too. At least, more than Chaka. That wasn't difficult. With the years and no sign of his brother, Kion thought it was his turn, to be important and respected. So he proposed Timara to marry him insted of his brother. She rejected him nicely, saying he had not to do that. She make him understand with delicacy that he was still a dreamer and that at this point, no one would accepted him as a king. But she would "think about it" if thing had to go worst. The only thing Kion keept from their conversation, as a good dreamer he was, was the fact she will "think about it".

One week later, Chaka was there. And after a short time everyone loved his brother again, and this time Timara too. She didn't raged about Chaka, didn't goosip with Kion about Chaka's terrible attitude or criticaze his mane. Kion lost that too. And the worst was that Chaka seemed to not even noticed that EVERYONE adored him. He even had the balls to rejected Timara's feeling and pretended to be a poor sad guy. Kion hated that, and he show himself very distant and unpleasant with his brother.

As the second male in command of the pride, he had to patrol with his brother sometimes. He hated that. None of the brother talked during these patrols, but it wasn't surprising. They didn't talk at other occasions, why would they right now?

-Would you like to welcome our guest from the tree of life with our delegation?

Chaka's question get him out of gis thought.

-Well, insn't that your duty?

-It is... I was just asked if you wanted to join us. It could be good for your.

-If your order it to me, I guess I have no choice...

Chaka frowned, he stoped his walk and face his brother.

-It's not an order. Do as you wish, maybe it's better you do not show your poor social ability... Anyway, I can continue alone, come home and sulk as you want.

Kion froze, he didn't expected that.

-Well, maybe I will. After all, I'm not as perfect as you!

-Wait, what?

Chaka seemed to not understand what's his brother getting at.

-You hearded me. You are so perfect, everyone loves you just for being here. Even if you always do wrong.

Kion did let his brother finished ans shout.

-You are so proud of yourself and a pathetic boastfull, but everyone prefere you! You abandoned this our pride and your commitments by running away, and everyone forgive you. And worst, you rejected the love of Timara pretending to be hurt in the past? Sorry I'm not as perfect as you, but at least, I do my best and I try not to hurt people!

Chaka stay silent for a moment, looking the ground with a deeply look of sorrow. Then, he looked at his brother with a cold wrath.

-Don't lecture me Kion. You, most of all, should just shup up.

Kion said nothing, intrigued by what his brother had to say.

-No one can coun't on you. You're always in your world, always imagining that our destiny is uppon you and that you are so important, more than the king himself. You do that since when we were cubs, but you are and adult now. You should know that dreaming something doesn't make it real, you have to WORK on it! Life's real. There is no "magic roar" or "herds who need protection from predators" just as I'm not the one who kept you in my shadows.

It hurt and enraged Kion. How could he say something like that?

Chaka cut his sentence.

-Can't you understand that I worked hard to be here today? Not because I want to, but because I HAVE to. Me, I didn't wast my time playing stupid non sens game just to pretend I'm important. I try to be the best version of myself.

Kion start to growl. He felt insulted. But he didn't know what to say. The blue eyes lion smirked, but with a strange sad smile.

-And you know what the worst ? I didn't even ask for it.

-Don't make me cry.

Kion was happy with his punchline. Chaka continue with the same cold tone were you could feel his anger.

-I never asked to be bethrothed. I learned to like Timira, she's beautifful, intelligent and nice. Nice with everyone except me. She hate me for whatever reason, just ad you do hate me for no reason!

Kion was taken by surprise. He couldn't talk, Chaka continued without letting him have a break.

-Oh yes, don't be so surprise. I knew what you two think about me. Believe me brother, I tried to be perfect, but you and my future wife hated me... I loved you both! And behind my back you two... I did leave because of you.

-We... We never wanted you to leave.

Kion try to defend himself, but he knew he would be wrong whatever he would do.

-You had your chance to take my place and my future mate. I know you do tried. But you didn't succes. And this time, I was not here. I'm not the cause of your misfortunes Kion. And know that I wish you did take MY place.

-That's not true! You wanted to hurt Timara, she said it to me.

Kion thought he got a point. But his brother only raised his shoulders.

-It's not my goal, but I confess that if the fact she love me now after hurting me on purpose is... a fair backfire.

-SEE! You are not as perfect as you think you are!

Chake sighed, visbily jaded of this discussion that would lead nowhere.

-Contrary to what you often think, I never claimed I was. You don't like me, and don't want to hear my side of the story, that's fine. Just leave me alone and go with your dear princess to trash on me.

Kion looked as his brother continue his way. For a moment, he thouht off running to him and ask for forgiveness... But he shake his head and walk on the opposite side.
