If it's not clear, Scar thinks his son died because of his action in the cave of the royal wall ( but he will never verbalize it ). He don't blame Zira or anyone else like he always did because he think he's responsible for what happen.
He's not sorry for Zira ( you will see later ), he tries to reassure himself. That's why he's acting nicely.

PS: Sesibani was of course not cursed or killed by the kings of the past. He died of the sudden infant death syndrome. Bad luck...
