Description
So a few weeks ago I got the idea to make some object characters based on Kevin MacLeod songs, given how common his songs were in the osc back in it's early years. Even though his music is still occasionally used, I don't really hear Kevin songs in object shows anymore.

So I wanted to somewhat pay homage to his music by making some objects based on some of the many iconic Kevin songs.

Some of my picks took a good while to think up objects for, but I eventually came up with some.

For New Friendly I decided to make him a birdhouse because I heard very faint whistling sounds in the background of the song. It reminded me almost of birds, and birds can be friendly (most of them anyway lol). So I drew Birdhouse, a very friendly object who whistles and loves birds.

Cipher is probably the most nostalgic Kevin song for me, more so than any other. It just fills you with the feels. So I decided to think of something nostalgic, and given the recent discontinuation of the iPod family, I decided to make Cipher into an iPod! They're very nostalgic for simpler times, and often just vibes to their favorite songs.

For Chipper Doodle I made.....a chipper doodle lol. Something that like a 3-9 year old would scribble. It took me a few tries to get a face I liked, but I settled on one that's closer to how I usually do eyes. Doodles always has a pep in his step, always on the sunny side of things.

How It Begins was a hard one. The initial vibes I got from it were thoughts of a bright blue sky with clouds floating along on a warm summer day. My initial thoughts were "picnic", though It wasn't really working for me. Then a friend suggested a cloud, and I went with that idea. Giving the song another listen, the song was also very calming and (in a similar fashion to Cipher) nostalgic. So I made the very chill cloud Puff, who loves warm days and often vibes along with iPod.

Rocket was self explanatory, I knew I was gonna make Rocket a rocket from the get-go. The question was what vibes did the song give off? It gave me like "speed" or "contest" vibes, kinda like Shiny Tech. Though Rocket sounded more "hardcore" to me in comparison. So this is Rocket, the cool, speedy, and daredevilish roller skater. Occasionally he flies, but he just loves to skate even more.

Pinball Spring is one of my favorite Kevin songs, though it really doesn't remind me of pinball lol. I got more pixely game vibes from it, so I made it a Gameboy covered in pixely stickers, and of course covered in bright colors! Gameboy loves games, and while they tend to brag about their achievements a lot, it all seems to be just from pure excitement.

For Wallpaper I drew inspiration from a real life source. I based Painty's design off my Mom's semi recent paint job in her room. Most of the room was this pale blue color, and the back of the room was covered with this navy wood print wallpaper. So I incorporated that into Painty's design. The song also reminded me of like a small fun montage of people like designing something together, so I made Painty look friendly. She's a semi-professional painter, though she often just helps her friends repaint their houses rather than complete strangers.

Last but not least, I did Meatball Parade , another favorite of mine. Like Rocket, it was self explanatory, but I also wanted to incorporate the cute dumbness of the song into this character lol. As I saw from a commenter on an upload of the song, they called it an example of a "no thoughts, head empty" song, and I agree lol. So I made lil Meatball, a young little one who often leads parades with his younger siblings, baton and all.

Listening to all these songs was a trip though memory lane. And honestly I genuinely might do this again. There are so many other songs to choose from, so my work here certainly isn't done!
