Yes, it will take you a while. Blending them is the hardest part. I find the more I use them the more I like them. I like them because they aren't messy!

Blending is quite hard, but it's nice not having to
deal with the smudging you get with ordinary pencils.
That part drives me crazy

Here's another tip on blending. First you have to go and look at the Apple a day drawing I did. You will find it in my (Still Life Gallery) Notice the vertical lines I drew on the apple. A good way to blend those colors is to take the white pencil and blend going horzontialy. This will stretch the colors from side to side or sorta smudge them. It gives it a natural look.
