I promised I was going to do a plethora of sprites soon, and I'm starting it off with the kid/younger versions of our favorite Free! boys. You guys have no idea how difficult it is to sprite children. Especially when the default body has them skipping around rather than walking like normal people. The bodies I used were from a sprite set made by . Big kudos to them for giving us a child template that isn't skipping around. Granted, I could see Nagisa doing that more than the others, but I digress.

Included in this sprite sheet, we have Haru/Haruka Nanase, Makoto Tachibana, Rin Matsuoka, Nagisa Hazuki, Shiina Asahi, Ikuya Kirishima, Natsuya Kirishima, and Nao Serizawa.

Before anyone dives down my throat on the outfits, hold up. I know not all the characters in the show wore that particular swim gear, but the first four have. Asahi and Ikuya are in them for now as a "what-if". I'm well aware the kids have their own swim shorts as children, and I will get to that soon. Ease up. Also, Natsuya and Nao will bulk up in later sprites. Until then, they are scrawnier in their youthful appearance.

For Nao and Natsuya's bodies and hair, I borrowed sprites from 's Hetalia sprites - mainly Russia and Lithuania - and did a massive dye job. I used actual pictures of the two to get the hair color to look just right, a process I did with Asahi and Ikuya.

In part 2, I will do Sousuke, Kisumi, Rei, and "what-if" pictures for Momotarou, Nitori, and Gou if necessary. After that, I will the kids their rightful swim wear, and then clothes. Cos dang it, the kids need clothing. Why do I get the feeling I'm going to hafta hand draw every article of clothing on these kids? lol
