At a certain point in the game, and if you had both Grubb and Led, Maya will run off due to some event leaving Led and Grubb alone. They will be attacked by enemies and you will have to option to send Grubb to track down some guys who have some nice loot or stay and help Led. If he leaves, Led will be angry with him. If he stays they will fight off the enemies together and their friendship blossoms into full romance. They seem quite happy here, so I guess he made the latter choice.
