Description This was actually made months ago but I didn’t have time to release it.
Duck was puffing into the yard when he saw Nia crying, she was very upset.
“Are you alright Nia” said Duck
“Yes” she said but by the look of her, she is not.
“Nia, are you sure?” Duck worrying for her.
Nia took a few deep breaths and spoke out, “Do you know Danna Loesch?” She said
Duck thought for a moment, “well I hear there are talks about her but no, I haven’t” he said, “Apparently she attack the TTTE show by showing the characters wearing KKK hoods, all because of me!”
She started to cry, Duck was horrify.
“When I introduced, I was criticized for replacing one of the main characters like Edward or Henry but they are still in the show right? But she is the one I hated the most”
“Nia” said Duck calmly, “I know this is not the...”
“I get it Duck!” She cry, Duck was about to shout back to her but he realize he talk about it too much and it not the time for ‘Great Western way’.
“Look, Nia, I am sorry, I might stay with her for a while until you are better, I might get Oliver and Ryan to take care of your and mine trains” he said, Nia sniff and replied, “thank you Duck”
Duck smile and ask the drive to telephone Sir Toppham Hat about it.

Sadly, Nia and Rebecca remain two huge Base-Breaking Characters in the fandom.

Sure I like them both, but I would prefer if they didn't replace both Edward and Henry on the Steam Team.

Or better yet... why keep the Steam Team at all?

Some people just won't grow up...

Ever since her introduction, the only ones calling attention to the fact that Nia is a foreign character are the haters.

Never ONCE is it brought up within contest of the show, as there she's written purely as a fun and likeable engine, who HAPPENS to be both female and African.

Yes Mattel's intentions here were a bit blatant and on the nose, but the execution was done very well.

I love you Nia, we all do.

I think Nia and Rebecca have a lot of potential, but I think what really gets me riled up is the fact that the Steam Team concept is still a thing. I feel like it should just die already instead of Nia and Rebecca.

As much as I agree with that statement regarding the Steam Team, it's been a successful marketing point for the show since 2004, so I don't think they're dropping it any time soon.

And it's all because parents think Thomas is a "children's" brand. Well he's not, he's a complete family brand. Anyone can watch Thomas, like you and me. It isn't like Barney or Teletubbies or anything.

And even with Mattel acquiring the show, it hasn't become pandering and simplified like every other kids show out there. Plus considering every other franchise Mattel got from someone else (Max Steel, Bob the Builder), Thomas has been practically untouched in comparison to them.

Yes, since S22 they do have those parts where Thomas speaks directly to the viewer, but those aren't part of the actual 7 minute episode, and thus can be ignored without missing anything.

Danna Loesch is not a good person.

You should've seen Twitter, it was so much worse, similar to that. Nia was literally called the N-Word with the hard R by a small few and there was this one person who said that she wouldn't be a role model to children because she was a woman and "black African ethnicity". Then finally quoting that Nia is a racist, sexist, feminist, political agenda engine. Not going to say who because I'm not a dick and they were the reason why I got into sprite art of Thomas. But man, she was the most attacked by many in the fandom and it was why I supported BWBA and Nia and Rebbeca in the first place.

God, I glad I didn't have twitter until early this year.
I don't mind BWBA even if I haven't seen it, I remember the quote from the RWS Thomas the tank engine saying "He want to go out from the station to see the world" which is a forgotten reason why it a great idea because even the Rev. W. Awrdy support it because he written it in the book. (Well, he could also mean he want to see the rest of Sodor by on fan on his review on the movie but it just my theory as to why I think it a good idea)
But by god, why the heck we are flogging the dead horse about a friction character from Africa.

the end of 2017 was hell for the fandom when it was revealed so I'm glad you didn't join back then.

I don't mind it either when I saw The Great Race, I honestly wanted an around the world adventure story featuring the Great Race characters. Sure there were a few comics on the official YouTube channel but I wanted to see them properly in the actual show. Was it a great idea? Yes as it would make the children learn more about the world and travelling but now, I'm very much neutral on the idea. The quote "He wants to go out from the station to see the world" does mean he wants to see the rest of Sodor, not the world and everyone else agrees with that. But I do believe Awdry might support it, since I know that his children, both Christoper Awdry and Veronica Chambers went to the premiere of BWBA last year. Plus Chambers said in interviews that Rev W Awdry would've supported it too.

Huh, I am surprise because he once criticizes “Henry Forest” for being unrealistic.
But I am sure he like it because they based the idea on that quote from the RWS even it was something else.

Then again, Awdry almost removed Henry from the RWS altogether over a simple miscolouring, so I don't think he had the best opinion of that character to begin with.

Honestly I have to agree. Nia is a good character but she gets too much hate just because she and Rebecca replaced 2 of the best characters.
Henry is my favourite character but I'm not going to attack Mattel or Nia.

And at least they didn't do what S8 did, and just have all these new faces show up out of the blue and have the old ones just disappear without a trace. Remember the whole "Emily replaced Duck" fiasco?

They eased in the new stuff, and gave in-universe explanations as to where Edward and Henry are right now, as well as to make sure they're sticking around despite being moved to supporting roles.
