Because clearly, that Chosen dump (and most of my other Blood art thus far) wasn't enough asshole gunslinger.

* Typical states of being (with bonus in-game quote).

* Caleb sits at some diner the morning after losing Ophelia, trying to figure out what to do next. Time is not on his side, as far as he knows, and he's got no leads as to where Shial took Gabriella, but perhaps he overhears another patron mention that the Cabal seem to be swarming the frozen northeast for some reason...

(Yes, that's tea. I have in mind that, AU-wise at least, Caleb knows that he's at risk for alcoholism; whenever he seriously considers downing a few shots, he makes himself drink something else--usually tea, but the kind of ginger ale that'll blast your sinuses open will also do. He's especially vigilant about this after taking in Wren.)

* Flashback to pre-pact days. The thing that Ishmael was talking about was likely Caleb's potential to utilize his Focus; in his excitement, he forgot that he didn't actually tell Caleb what Focus is or how it works.

* Cryptic Passage event, maybe. Once their bond is well and truly set, Caleb is determined to protect Wren at any cost--even using the Life Leech after its "safe" ammo has run dry.

* "Oh, trust me. As bad as my day's been...yours is about to get much worse."

* A pensive Caleb. This is how he usually appears to anyone who doesn't bother him, but isn't someone he cares about.

* Semi-experimental thing that I came up with after several rackings-of-brain for more regular doodles turned up nothing. Those are red lily petals floating on the river, by the way.

* Caleb at twelve, having just fled home. So, how does someone, particularly a kid who can't stomach even mild violence, become infamous for bloodshed before they're even a legal adult?..
