Description It's colored and done!
It even has backgrounds! (Don't expect this, backgrounds are a pain.)
Alright, as promised I'm explaining what I drew.

*The Lesson*

I was thinking about the sheer awesomeness of having just one god. Have you ever thought about it?
All the other religions have multiple deities that cover different things. Our god however, he covers every single thing you could possibly want or need and so much more! (I'm drawing a comic on that later)

You have what's commonly called God the Father: The God and King. Almighty Warrior. Large enough to hold the entire universe in the palms of his hands and strong enough to breathe life into it! You want a king to be large and in charge? One who not only holds the office but can trump anyone who is bold enough to try and replace him.

Then God the Son: He's the word made flesh- and as flesh he offers the physical. He can give you a hug, the slight ruffle of the hair. One who's done it all. He's gone through it himself. He's a teacher of the masses. He provides for each need. A tender father to hold you on his shoulders.

God the Spirit: I bet you've never thought of God as small. Well, he's small enough to know me. There's been plenty of times where in frustration I cried out who I didn't want a god to hold the heavens. I didn't care about a mighty warrior who could best the entire world in a moment. I just wanted a friend to comfort me and to know my hurt. I didn't want someone to walk ahead as an example. I didn't care if one was beside me and saw what was happening. I didn't even care if there was someone to stand behind me to back me up. I wanted someone who could walk *where* I was standing. In my shoes. To not only understand my hurt, but to share the load. He's the best friend I could have ever wanted. He's small enough to truly know everything about me and to speak with me in a way that I can hear and not be afraid.

*The Art*
The outer panels were easy. The lion was a flat-out obvious. It is not only the most common picture of God, but also the perfect representation of the mighty god, king and warrior.
The spirit was described as wind in most occasions, and it was the simplest thing to draw and I think the best to understand.
The middle frame. Grr...
It still didn't turn out as I liked. But due to the fact that many people liked it in the draft, I decided that "good enough" is honestly good enough. (That's still what I'm learning. Pray for me please. I'm such a perfectionist. I'm trying to break the mindset that if I can't do it perfectly I shouldn't do it.)
I put Yahweh as the title because it seemed the most appropriate. The name means "I AM" and is used as the personal name of God. Simply labeling it 'the triune god' or anything with 'god' in it seemed to defeat the purpose of my words at the bottom.

Here's a nice little tidbit: The theologian Jurgen Moltmann likes to think of the Holy Spirit as God the mother.

Out of curiosity, what does that mean?

A quick Google search tells me that it's an Islamic phrase that says "God is Greater", but I'm still not really sure what it is.

I've never heard it before. When would you hear it? Like a general "Amen" in a service, or proclaiming the god of Islam over anything else, a mix of the two or something else?

It means GOD is great, yes.

when people use it, I dont know. I'm not Muslim.

Oh.Β

Did you have any particular reason for putting it there or were you just agreeing that "God is Great"? Sorry for over complicating things.

Nah, i just was making a point because, and please use forgiveness, I take this 90's disney/Anime aproch the the trinity as a watering down of the Good-Spell insted of anything else.

you are a phenomenal artist, but the Lion of Yehudah looking like Simba kind of makes me feel iffy.

Yeshua-Sophia bless!Β

This is amazing!! I got the message from the picture, but the description makes it almost poetic . I do like the lion, but I'm not sure it's "the most common picture of God"... is that in the bible? I remember satan described as a roaring lion, but not God. Just curious
I'll pray for your perfectionism if you'll pray for mine ^^!

When I said the most common picture, I meant the most familiar. From what I've seen many people picture God as a lion because of the "Lion of Judah" phrase, though it actually only appears once. (I believe it's in Revelations)

Ah, Ok, I do remember that. Anyway, it does represent his power somewhat. I like the way you draw as well
