Description
The fourth mecha from my conceptual universe.Heimarol (pronounced He-Mar-ruul) is my simplest design of the set. Its body is lightly armored to lighten its load weight and such the bicep and thigh regions are covered in a cloth material rather than armor. Its something Patlabor gets away with, so I figured its something I could do as well.
Its basic usage and function is close quarters combat, so as a component of the machine (not shown) is a large sword and a set of knives that would be stored under the small shield mounted on the left arm.
Heimarol's role is that of the captain of the guard, so it has more decorative marks on it such as the 'feather' on the top of its head and the longer shoulder flairs.
Its marking code "ALM" stands for Advanced Legionare Model.

Thanks. This design is a few years old now and I've been slowly (long, long since delayed) working on an updated variation. I posted a WIP in my gallery.

I didn't really thought of it that way before, but thanks for the comment.

wow this is great, the proportions and shading were all done really well
just a couple quick questions: is there a reason you drew your mechas doing the same pose? and is there a storyline to this conceptual universe of yours?
anyways, keep up the great work!

The same pose is just a matter of how I was 'looking' at the design when I drew it, some of them are just coincidence others it was just easier do in a certain way.
To answer the second part, yes there is. Its an unwritten (meaning I haven't put it to print in any way) story I've worked on over the years I call "Legacy" and its about the pilots of my main mecha; Zenorgun, Andravil, Vehonwarze, and Heimarol who band together over a series of lifetime events. Planet hopping, robot fighting, reincarnation, and the bonds of friendship and honor, all the things we leave behind (hence the title). Its the sort of thing that came to mind after playing Xenogears and absorbing too much Mecha anime over the years.
