A request by Here's my attempt to do a little brush-up on the CGI series Pac-Man the Ghostly Adventures. For one thing I've always wanted to know why Pac-Man, living in a place called Pac-World, would have that name.
So I tried to provide an explanation for that, as well as maybe deepen the ghostly lore a bit!
I changed a bunch of names around too so they sounded more like names.
I'd love to hear your opinion.

Pretty decent, I do find the idea of trying to give lore to a generally simple series like Pac Man more 'lore' to an admirable effort (even if not all the attempts really stick). I mean I'm generally all for having good writing in a series about a super fast hedgehog who fight's an evil egg shaped scientist and his army of robots, I don't see why we can't do the same for a series about a yellow circle who eats ghosts while traversing a maze. I mean if you think about it Pac-Man while lighthearted could actually lend itself to a slightly darker reboot when you consider the main antagonists are freaking ghosts, not saying full on Batman V Superman but more along the lines of a Don Bluth movie (who actually almost made a Pac-Man game).
Though here's a question considering all the effort you put into reimagining the Sonic franchise I'm wondering how you'd handle the Mario series? You know since that's a series often associated with the Sonic series. I think one could do something with the old Brooklyn backstory from the 80s, had a sort of blue collar Wizard of Oz vibe to it in my opinion.

I am aware that there are games that seek to expand on Pacman's world. Though sadly people don't really know that much about it outside of the arcade games.

Do you mean the characters or the games? There's also a Pac Dog and a Professor Pac. Kind of a shame that the Ghostly Adventures in it's attempts at expanding the Pac Mythos kind of neglected the whole family man aspect of Pac Man. At least there's the old Hanna Barbara cartoon.

Do you mean shot themselves in the foot? Apparently Frogger's in a similar situation to Pacman where they've attempted to give him lore but people will only think about the original game, frogger.fandom.com/wiki/Frogge….
Really the one thing I'd probably change about Pacman lore is maybe change some character names.

Yeah, really Ghostly Adventures biggest problem is that it's just really generic, to the point that if you remove the Pac-Man IP barely anyone would notice it. A show based more on the lore from the games would be more interesting, what kind of show do you envision a more game based one to be like? Also there seems to be a trend in trying to give the ghosts some sort of boss they answer to, out of all these bosses which one do you like most and who would you have be the leader of the ghosts in a new series?

I'm sorry, but I don't like this. I get what you're going for, and I commend that, but I don't see Pac-Man as a huge lore packed series. I just see it as something fun, where I can turn off my brain and just enjoy for no other reason than "just because". I think you might have gone a little too heavy handed on this one.
I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm being a cynic or a jerk. It is not even close to my intentions. I just wanted to give my thought on your idea.
However, I do think your choice in song for this one is WAY off course for it. Remember when I said that I think you went a little heavy handed on it? Well, that is the main reason for it. I mean, come on: it's Pac-Man, not an M. Night Shyamalan movie. IT needs to be fun as well.

Hmmm...there is one thing I can think of. It's an old TV series called Kindred: the Embraced. It's an old 90's era show that revolves around a San Francisco detective solving mysteries that all lead to a secret territory war between two factions of vampires: the Camarilla who want to keep the truth of vampires existing a secret, and the Sabbat who see themselves as the rightful rulers of humanity. It's loosely (and by loosely I mean 'hanging by one VERY frayed thread') based off the Tabletop board game Vampire: the Masquerade. It bombed horribly when it first aired in 1996, but there is a LOT of lore here, especially in the source material. Maybe, you could re-imagine it as a detective/political drama set in modern times, but more faithful to the original source.

Sadly, I haven't played Bloodlines. However, I hope to rectify that and play Bloodlines 2 when it comes out.
Back to the subject, it does make an interesting premise: a local detective inadvertently discovers that vampires exist, and are waging a secret war, with humanity caught in the middle of it. Now, with the help of a few quote un-quote "good" vampires, he has to solve their crimes as well, and keep it all a secret.
Along with the crime story, a deep political drama plays out with the vampires as they fight to keep their existence a secret. Of course, not all vampires are doing this for the right reasons.

Just the general idea of the story being a bit deeper than just an adaptation of the game
Even in the original description of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures there no explanation as to why the Ghosts were turned into ghosts. They just are because it's like the game as far as I can tell.

actually in ga there a reason why the ghost are ghosts: betrayus and his mens caused a coup d eat just because he wanted to take over the world,burn out his frustrations for all the jelaousy toward his brother and kill people.but a little group of pacs stopped him and ripped off his soul from his body and sended to the netherworld
by the way, ghostly adventures is a tv series freely based on the pacman games and time later had 2 games based on the series itself
