Description
A dream pairing I think would work great: an Adventures of Sonic style animated series headed by 'Samurai Jack' and 'Dexter's Lab' creator Genndy Tartakovsky.
Genndy's style isn't easy to replicate because he has an effortless balance of color, shapes, and almost impressionistic detail. I drew from his series Samurai Jack (of course) but also the short-lived Sym-Bionic Titan and elements of his other shows.
And it was fun to revisit these two characters. I know they're probably closer to my vision of the characters (especially Sonic wearing pants) but I just feel something less like a mascot and more like an adventure show look would suggest a deeper storyline.
I loved the last season of Samurai Jack which really does suggest Genndy takes risks and isn't afraid of combining animation, humor, and pathos. I could see those three things ideally combined in a Sonic series...at least in my bizarre little brain.
