TWG : They Grow Up So Fast

Fastkit's whiskers twitched with excitement as Cursedstar climbed onto the Overlook and called for a Clan meeting.
"Let all cats old enough to fish gather beneath the Overlook to hear my words!" She called and quickly Clan cats started filing out of their dens. Deerleap and Mintstreak sat near their kits. Emberkit hissed in protest as her mother licked the fur between her ears flat. Burntkit sat on the opposite side of Mintstreak, keeping as far away from Fastkit as he could. It had been several days since they had had their fight, but they still hadn't said a word to each other.
"Tonight, Mintstreak and Deerleap's kits are going to be made apprentices!" Cursedstar meowed to the Clan. Mintstreak puffed out his chest in pride as many cats murmured their congratulations to them. Fastkit's face flushed but he held perfectly still so no one would know.
"First, Badgerkit, come forward," Cursedstar mewed to the cream and brown tom. He padded forward carefully.
Three-eye got to her paws and padded towards the kit before facing the Clan.
"Cats of PebbleClan, as you know, I will not be around forever. After Dreampaw's death, I must choose another cat to learn the ways of a Medicine Cat. Your next medicine cat will be Badgerkit."
"Badgerkit, do you accept the post of apprentice to Three-eye?" Cursedstar asked the apprentice.
His reply was nervous but excited, "I do."
"Then at the half-moon, you must travel to the Moontree to be accepted by StarClan before the other medicine cats. The name you will carry with you, until you have completed your training will be Badgerpaw." Three-eye touched noses with her new apprentice and moved back to her spot in front of her den, Badgerpaw following at her heels.
Fastkit rolled his eyes. His youngest brother had a unique connection with StarClan stuff, nobody should have been surprised by Three-eye's choice.
Cursedstar dipped her head. "The good wishes of all PebbleClan will go with you." She looked back to the three remaining kits.
"Burntkit," the black tom padded forward, his face as straight and serious as ever, "you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Burntpaw. Your mentor will be Silverclaw. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you.
"Silverclaw, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Docktail, and you have shown yourself to be gentle and brave. You will be the mentor of Burntpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to him."
Silverclaw dipped his head and said, "I will," before touching noses with Burntpaw and padding to the edge of the crowd to sit together.
"Emberkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Emberpaw. Your mentor will be Honeyflower. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you."
Emberpaw bounded forward to touch noses with her mentor before they joined Silverclaw and Burntpaw.
Fastkit's pelt pricked with excitement as he waited to find out who his mentor would be.
"Fastkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Fastpaw. Your mentor will be Talonflight. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you."
Talonflight padded up to him and Fastpaw glanced over the Warrior. He had seen him from across the camp before, he seemed to be a good Warrior. He touched noses with his new mentor before following him to sit with his siblings and their mentors. Talonflight sat a little ways away from the other cats, which Fastpaw was thankful for.
"We wish these apprentices luck in their training as warriors and as medicine cat apprentice," Cursedstar meowed before turning around and returning to her den.
The Clan meowed their congrats to the apprentices and mentors before heading for their dens to sleep.
"Better get some sleep Fastpaw," Talonflight meowed, "we'll start on your training bright and early tomorrow.
Fastpaw nodded and headed towards the apprentice's den.
He watched as his brother and sister pushed into the den, which was right next to Nursery.
He picked his way around the nests until he found one that was one the edge and far away from Burntpaw, then he curled up and covered his face with his orange tail, excited to finally start his Warrior training.
